i bet your friends have never hiked for turns in their lives. i wonder if they match their pants and jacket, put on cologne pre-ride, and slide rails <insert gay joke> all day?

I just don't see the point in wearing a backpack if you aren't riding backcountry or something. It just gets in the way...

Re: snowboard backpacks... who wears them
depends on the size of the resort and what your doing.. if im riding a shitty hill you dont need one, but if im riding whistler and dont feel like spending an arm and a leg on lunch (5 dollars compared to waiting in line to spend like 16) but i usually get my skier buddy to wear his pack and put my stuff in it.. riding is alot better without a backpack but its doable.

I wear a backpack.

The CamelBak alone makes it worth carrying around all day - One year I got really dehydrated from hiking and had to spend the afternoon on a couch in the lodge... I also keep some snacks, my lunch, and sometimes an extra layer in it, which saves me money not having to rent a locker for the day. It's really not all that inconvenient when you're riding, more so on the ride up the hill. I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

naa, it's pretty useful. If you need to shed some layers because its too hot you can just put it in your bag. Carry food and water. And it acts as a cusion if you beef it

Re: snowboard backpacks... who wears them
At my local resorts,(Mt High, Big Bear) I only need a deluxe Camelbak to hold water, energy bars, tools, and maybe a handgun. I do, however, wear a backpack at Mammoth, Whistler or any other huge resort. Backpacks are cool to have cuz you can swing them at the noobz who like to stay in the middle of the runs when they fall down!

Re: snowboard backpacks... who wears them
i wear a back pack for all my snowboarding i dont have to spend the $ on the lockers i can have my gear with me and it kind of acts as a counter weight and helps me balance out on jumps. i ride to have fun not to worry about what others think about me
did somebody say hills?

Re: snowboard backpacks... who wears them
I love wearing my backpack when i snowboard... it's really small though, it's a patagonia pocketwire pack. It holds everything i need, and i dont feel it at all.
here it is:

edit: so i went snowboarding today, and i got a lot of snide looks. I wasnt wearing all burton gear (i actually looked kinda like a kook, i ahd a big pom pom on my hat and was wearing a fleece). All these kids who wear bandannas and fancy burton gear depress me. They look the part, and wanna be like shawn white, but they arent, and look at anything other than the norm as "uncool". I sure as hell looked uncool to them, but why does it matter what you look like when you can actually ride?

sorry bout that, just a little frustrated.
