Re: official photography thread
SWEET!
ive loved photography since the moment i touched a camera!
and accoding to my art teachers/parents/friends i'm not too bad at it...but hopefully you guys will be honest because i'm never sure if they're just being nice
anyway i was also wondering if anybody here is a photographer by profession because i'll start applying to colleges soon and i'm kinda taking it into consideration.
anyway heres the photos......some are from a nikon F1 and some are from my rebel xti....
and check out in the self portrait, the camera is my newly aquired contax rx....im totally in love with it!
i've got plenty more to post up so let me know if you like them

Great grundge shot of a Revenge, looks used with a tough skin Like its about to hit me in the face, and the name closes the deal, just great. Plus no one outside of LongBoarding knows what it is from the angle. Nice

1. The canons don't have auto iso, and they don't fit in your hands the way nikons do.
2. the d40x is NOT worth the $200 more that they charge for it, while it can shoot 3fps compared to the d40's 2.5fps, the d40x actually has a slower flash sync (layman's terms--it can't shoot as fast of a shutter speed with the flash), which is much more important.
3. The difference between 10 megapixels and 6 megapixels isn't noticeable unless you're looking at meter-wide prints with a microscope.
4. Save your money and purchase the incredible sb-400 flash and/or put that money towards a decent telephoto.
5. Buy from amazon, ritz, or adorama

I'm gonna chime in here and say that meter-wide prints are massively sexy if you have the resources to make them. If you get everything sharp and clear, it rules.
Also, higher-resolution pictures don't look like crap when you crop them.

First off, i love this thread idea. secondly, here are some of my pics. As you will see, i absolutely love blurryness in pictures. i want the subject to just completely pop out of the picture!
this picture below i took in black and white but for some reason it came out looking like a negative. i thought it looked awesome!
below is one of my favorite pics ive ever taken. no post-processing at all. this is exactly how it came out!
here are a couple of pics i took and put together. i took them from the exact same spot, just changed my point of focus. they are gonna be framed on my wall at some point because i just think they look really cool. im gonna make some more like them in the near future. like i said.... i love blurry pictures!!
............................
Here are a couple i did in photoshop for my cousin to show his pinstriping work. everything is B&W except for the things having to do with painting (cans, brushes, artwork, etc...)
