Default who loves gun control? you shouldn't

this is an interesting read i found, a little extreme about those kilings being all because of gun control but it's still interesting.

The Historical results of Gun Control.

Whether you agree or not, it's an interesting lesson in history.

    Something to think about...
In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control... From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
    --------------------------------------------------------
In 1911, Turkey established gun control... From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
    --------------------------------------------------------
Germany established gun control in 1938...
From 1939 to 1945, 13 million people (6 million of whom were Jews), who were unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
    --------------------------------------------------------
China established gun control in 1935... From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
    ----------------------------! ----------------------------
Guatemala established gun control in 1964... From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
    --------------------------------------------------------
Uganda established gun control in 1970... From 1971 to 1979, 100, 000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
    --------------------------------------------------------
Cambodia established gun control in 1956... From 1975 to 1977, one million 'educated' people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and
    exterminated.
-------------------------------------------------------- Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million.
    --------------------------------------------------------
It has now been over 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by a new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million
    dollars.

The first year results are now in:
homicides are up 3.2 percent Australia-wide,
assaults are up 8.6 percent Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent!) Australia-wide.
In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent.
(Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns!)

While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since the criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.

There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the ELDERLY. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in "successfully ridding ! the Australian society of guns."
    --------------------------------------------------------
The Australian experience and the other historical facts above prove it.
    --------------------------------------------------------
You won't see this data on the American evening news or hear our president, governors, or other politicians disseminating this information. --------------------------------------------------------
Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property, and, yes, gun-control laws affect only the law-abiding citizens.
    --------------------------------------------------------
Take note my fellow Americans......before it's too late!
    --------------------------------------------------------
The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them of this history lesson.
    --------------------------------------------------------
With guns, we are citizens. Without them, we are subjects.

    Hasn't it worked for Japan?

I still think everybody should have guns. But live in piece. Because guns look so cool.

I believe we should have the right and I feel it is an important one, however since guns are kinda hard to come by and I can't be sure I will have one with me when needs be, I have trained myself to throw random object with deadly sick aim. I mean I can throw knives, axes or small shovels with enough aim to be 100% on target at 20 feet. Now granted I am not as deadly with say a fork or chopsticks but when you have to defend yerself.... ******* do it, regardless my landy or big worm upside your (not your as in aggresive but your as in defending myself) head would hurt like **** and might even stop a 22 or bb gun,

In a normal world you wouldn't even have to think about defending yourself... Sad eh?

But yeah, other than that, guns are nice. Shiny shiny... And yesterday I was watching a TV show, about crimes and murders and stuff, and there was that sick freak who used a bullet made of frozen ground beef to kill someone. Now I'm gonna feel weird eating burgers. Eating something that could kill a man with deadly velocity

Guns rock if you know how to use them. They do more harm than good if you dont have the training and practice. Every human should have the right to defend themselves.

you're right that those figures about jews, educated people, and christians being rounded up and killed cuz they can't defend themselves don't prove the point very well at all, although they do have some truth. What really interested me was the extreme rise in crime and gun use in australia.

They have some truth sure, but do they mention changes of Government? Nope. Look at the facts for the Governments then... brutal regimes... Hitler, Pol Pot, militaristic regimes. Go figure kiddies.

What good can a gun do? Is killing someone good? Ripping someone away from their family and friends even if they are a criminal? Hell, you can shoot a criminal, but does that make you a good person? You killed someone. Guns produce a "me or them" dilemma. Guns are wrong. Killing is wrong.

Also, I think knives are a good idea. Big, ****-off shiny knives, the ones that look like they could skin a crocodile. Knives are good because they don't make any noise, and the less noise the make the more we're likely to use them. **** 'em right up. Guns for show, knives for a pro.

what are you talking about man? it's called self-defense, of course it's better for the criminal to die than the victim.

the only gun control that could work is if all the guns in the entire world were destroyed and all plans for guns destroyed and any one smart enough to make a gun is destroyed but since theyve already been invented it will be impossible. If you kill someone threatening your life thats fine because then its survival of the fittest. Charles darwin **** man. Those who suck at life shall die and those who are awsome will survive and win.

Some of u guys are saying that killing in self defense is wrong and makes u a criminal yourself, i think u are bein way to idealistic...and im sure that if a criminal had a gun pointed at u adn was about to shoot u, u would shoot them rather then die....
...unfortunatly we do not live in an ideal world...

Its everyones right to defend themselves against the government, and against criminals, that is why we haev the right to bear arms

well said, that's what i was about to say. Using a gun to protect yourself and your family in the event someone enters your house with a gun with the intention to steal does not make you a criminal.

    yes it does
for law it does make you a killer
but let's stop this conversation here, beacuse I think we got a serious menatilty/cultural difference with respect to this point. all europeans, asiasn, and ausies (at least most ofem) think killing is killing, americans think killing out of self defens is something different, it's just a difference in our culture... anyways, I wasn't aware of this till I saw bowling for columbine, and even then I thought that it was way too much black and white, and that it wasn't realistic... e few months later here on the fish I find ouot that it indeed IS realistic....
    so yeah
my point is... stop bickering over our cultural differences, we will never understand each other, because we got like 300 years( most immigrants only came to amrica baout 300 years ago) of different cultural herritage.... you cal l it self defense, we call it killing... just respect our rules if you are here, and I will respect yours if I'm there, and we should be fine I guess...
