crass: they are almost like driving a crotchrocket(leaning and all) down a hill...except that they dont have any power(obviously)

i was at a downhill/luge site and saw a long video about those. they look pretty fun, but wouldnt it be really uncomfortable curled up like that? personaly i would like to ride something comfortable...like a longboard or a luge. anyways cool idea. probably goes hella fast. you should clock youself and give us some speeds.

whaddya' think about cable-actuated disc brakes?

I'm just thinkin' if you brake for a long time the rims are gonna heat up quite a bit. A high speed flat can't be much fun.

I've seen rims that were worn through, to the point where they split on the sidewall from excessive downhill braking, although that was on a ski slope.

    Gnarly!
I thought this was a reference to DH mtb's, but this is a whole new (to me) level of craziness!

Cable-actuated disc brakes are great, as are hydros, for bikes. Mechanicals are easy to work on, hydros can be more powerful, both stop better than cantilevered rim brakes.
