The worst regret of all... Getting a haircut
So I have been growing my hair for a good 5 months or so now, and it was getting pretty gnarly. It's super curly and I kept the sides shaved, so it was sort of like some kind of magic gravity defying power-quiff thing.
I went home for a few days recently, and my stupid parents ground me down, and managed to talk me into getting it shaved off. So I've gone from mighty fear-inflicting power-quiff to joe average 1/4" head shave.
I have never regretted a decision more in my life, and I bought a timeshare on the edge of the Yangtze around spring 1998 so that's saying something.
Anyone else out there know the pain of the ultimate inner turmoil and despair I am feeling right now? (i.e. has anyone else out there cut long hair short and regretted it?)

Good for you that you cut your hair, at least now you may almost look the part of a decent, respectable gentleman.

Re: The worst regret of all... Getting a haircut
yea my hair is pretty long... way past my shoulders... i wanna get dreads really bad so i don't have to worry about it getting all nasty and messy... basically i drive around with my windows down but all i can think about is how much of a bitch its going to be to brush it later...
so dreads are what i want to be the final evolution of my hair... but im pretty sure it would take many many hours to dread it at its current length...
not to make this into the "faggy hair thread" or anything
I basically just ride bikes now...

Re: The worst regret of all... Getting a haircut
Long hair will take awhile to dread up. Mine was about 2 inches above my belly button, i had some major long girl hair. I stopped cutting around 7th grade and put my dreadlocks in during 11th grade. It has been bout 2 and a half years since I'v put my dreads in, so I can only imagine how long my hair would be now. It was too long and such a bitch to manage, also since I refused to put in a pony tail...those are for girls. Anyways, hair will grow back and it will come back alot faster than you think. I dont think the day will be anytime soon when I cut my hair, but I will be getting a #2 when I do...just like 4th grade.

3 years so far and just getting it trimed is horrible for me. Plus last time they ****ed up and made the front longer and then they wanted to make it SHORTER to make it even... I said no.

Re: The worst regret of all... Getting a haircut
I had a curly jew fro since the 8th grade and now I cut it to a #3 buzz cut. I got tired of managing all that hair plus my friend with shorter hair told me, "if I have to worry about my hair in the morning, it is too long." I cut it and have been comb free since. Plus I can finally see out of my dh helmet.

#0 for me, once a month if I am lazy. No muss, no fuss. I used to have that lame shag hair ~6"-8" on average, but shaved it when I got to college. All the kids are doing it nowadays.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.
