The black One Tops need some red paint splattered on them and maybe a little mac and cheese.

Re: Kurt Cobain Tribute Sneaker...
That sucks. One of my favorite bros getting sold out again. Courtney must be outta dope. I know if he was alive this wouldn't happen.
I remember being pretty angry when the "Cobain Diaries" was released, too. Now I think the whole thing is just sad. Whatevs.

Re: Kurt Cobain Tribute Sneaker...
wow! That is aweful. Makes one dislike Courtney Love even more. Why not just print out his "suicide" note on a pair of high tops. That would be tactful

I believe we can all agree on that.

What is truely sad is that people are stupid enough to buy new shoes that already look old and worn.
Idiots.

Re: Kurt Cobain Tribute Sneaker...
Nirvana are entirely punk rock.
I am a total ignorant music snob, I hate basically all music other than Old School Hardcore Punk Rock, with a spattering of Surf Music from time to time, and would gladly call many a 'punk' band out on their credentials using the term.
But Nirvana fall under the category quite safely if you ask me. Listen to Territorial Pissings, and tell me Nirvana aren't punk.

Ok, so thats one song on there one PUNK (not hard xx core) album. There is no way i call that "hardcore punk rock." Listen to every album after that all tell me that it's punk.

I guess i just don't have the best understanding of late 80's and up punk rock. I'm used to hearing that crap anti flag and what not that they call punk now a days.

Re: Kurt Cobain Tribute Sneaker...
Kurt would never agree to something like this in a million million years. This is sad, opportunistic, capitalist crap. The guy was a global icon. He had more talent than any ten other songwriters alive. He created a new genre of music. But he was a junkie, an anarchist and had lifelong depression. The combination of all that stress made him want out, and he offed himself. For some fat, sweaty chump in a suit to waddle up 10 years later with a bunch of boxes of Chinese tennis shoes stamped with his name is pathetic and scummy. Yeah, I feel a sense of ownership since I'm from Seattle and I watched Nirvana evolve, but leaning into someone's grave to sell shoes is really, really low regardless of who we're talking about.
Oh, and it's grunge. Not punk. Punk was much earlier.

Must not, because the Clash have been around since the seventies. Punk in a traditional sense is a lifestyle/attitude, not a genre of music. "Punk rock" is a byproduct of this lifestyle. The term "punk rock" does get thrown around pretty loosely these days. Lydon is punk. Strummer is/was punk. Cobain is/was punk. Same spirits, different ways of expressing it.

Sometimes, you can just smell the negative rep before you see it.
