Re: Look what I got.
Man. This is an old thread. Did I even write this thread?
So no, Fatty I never got the money.
or did I?
no I'm all poor. So no. No money.
I did finally get the charlie-horse in my foot that I broke. Ever since I broke it, it has felt like it wanted to cramp up. Well it finally did and my foot feels better now. Almost like it did before I broke it. Most of the little pains are gone. Except for the ones at the base of my toes. I'm pretty sure I bent them all the way back and sprained the sh!t out of them. They are the lingering problem. If I had gottem the money from the scam maybe I could have bought myself a new foot....or atleast been able to afford to follow through with some real medical treatment.
I wonder if I can scrounge enough couch change for airfare to the sizzler this year. I may have to raid a few couches to do so. Are you going to the Sizzler this year, Fatty?

Re: Look what I got.
glad to hear the foot is on the mend!
Not sure on Sizzler, Joe isn't all that hot on Houston. I gotta see what work has in store for me, I already lost out on a snowboard trip in February as I gotta go present to Sears/Kmart in Chicago
I wanna go to a race in Latvia, just so I can tell my boss I need time off to play skateboards in Latvia. Plus how cool would THAT stamp be in my passport!
I'm trying to put together a small race series in Jersey, like 3 or 4 races. Just laid back, no timer head to head racing on a dual course with some cool prizes. Then maybe a slide jam and/or DH session after. I wanna get involved with the slider/DH guys in the area - kinda I show you mine, you show me yours stuff. Secretly I just wanna learn to slide so I can be safe in the knowledge of knowing exactly which wheels are best for sliding. But honestly it would be good to have some unity with all the different sects of skating in my area. I can get along with just about anyone, so I could be the Douchebag Ambassador in some way.
Other than that, I'm not sure what racing I will get to this year. I just got through re-financing my house AGAIN to get out of credit debt, so I gotta try and watch my spending - something I've never been good at in the past. In my defense, I buy STUFF and not liquor and crystal meth. So instead of no teeth and scabs I had like 50+ guitars and several dozen skateboards. Sadly I sold most of that stuff off, but hopefully I've learned from my mistakes.
I'd like to get to Dixie again, this past year's road trip was epic! And there's rumblings of a Farm-ish type event that may or may not go down. I'll probably go to Ottawa for the Dovercourt race or if they have the Worlds there. Maybe a trip to Quebec City to race with Mig and the Fullbag crew. But these are all drive-to type things, I doubt I'll be doing any flying to races this year, unless I can cash in miles, but you know how THAT always works out!
Are you gonna go to NAMM this year? I know you get screwed every year, but I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya' I wanna go again, it's been many years. Hey, if I can get into Nashville can you scam a badge for me? It'll likely never happen, but I do get sent down there to do trade shows and give presentations every so often. Mmmmmm my mouth is watering just thinking of Jacks BBQ.
Anyhow, that's where I'm at these days. What races are you thinkin' about getting to? And how is that new couch? Is it the nap machine that your old one once was?

Re: Look what I got.
I guess I could go to NAMM if I drove down on my day off and just went on my own. I can usually get a pass for doing that. I just sent a bunch of stuff for the Winter NAMM out in CA just a few weeks ago. If you go to Nashville you need to check out the OmniHut. One of the last remaining and still operating tiki restaraunts from the 50's. It's byob though. I love that place.
I'm not sure what all races I'll make. On the wish list this year is the Sizzler, St Louis, Wiggle War, Cone Fest and Dixie. Travel costs is going to kill me and limit what I really get to do. Maybe with my new skate shop connection I can finally organize a race here.
The new couch is good. Not the nap machine as the red one but it works. The nice thing is the back cushons can be taken off and really gives you some room to spread out or share. Co-ed nap time can be nice.
be sure to visit CFav when you go to Chi-town.

Re: Look what I got.
Has anyone ever been desperate or retarded enough to fall for this?
If you don't fall, how you gonna know what getting up is like?

Re: Look what I got.
don't get me started on stupid people. I'm tired of "if it's not green and it's not blue then it must be the end of the world" kind of jumps in logic. I had a whole speil going here but I'm editting that out and I'll just say this....
I just need to get laid.
sorry

Re: Look what I got.
I'm really missing some things today.
I'm missing skating....stupid snow and cold weather. I finally get my foot healed up for skating and winter comes a knocking.
I'm missing rock climbing. I need to get back to doing that again.
Missing mtn biking. I guess I need to stop spending money on skate stuff and fix my bike.
Missing kayaking. again stupid winter weather and lack of time too.
Missing going to shows. There needs to be more bands touring in my area but not just that....touring when I actually have time to see shows. and the money to go to a show would be nice too.
I miss pizza night with my friends.
I miss being able to fill up my car with gas for only $10.
I miss Nashville. I miss the mountains. I miss the oceans. I miss Disney World. I need a vacation.
I don't miss the old tv that took three grown men just to move, the new one is maybe better if not an inch or two smaller but I can move it all by myself without even straining.
I miss the good old days when one board was enough. When I had one board that I carried everywhere and skated everything with just that one board.
I also miss having the time to skate all the time. I may not have been good but I was in practice. It's amazing how much easier it is to land things when you have practice.
A lot of missing things today.

Re: Look what I got.
I miss the one board logic too! Loosen trucks for slalom, tighten for DH.
I miss workin' at the music store. I don't miss the douchebag customers who thought they were rock stars
I miss workin' at the bike shop. Again, don't miss the douchebags, but I miss seeing all the new gear
I miss my old hearse
I miss my hair
I miss my Fatboy Chubby combo, wish I never sold it
I miss Sloaner, wish she wasn't dead
I miss high school.........hahahahah no I don't!
I miss White Manna, wish I lived closer
I miss the abilities I used to have in skateparks and on ramps

Re: Look what I got.
Thinking of this first post of this thread I can't help thinking of the scene in "the Jerk" (an american classic if ever there was one) the scene where Mavin gets his name in the phone book for the first time. Which makes me think...didn't Frank use the gas pumper image from the Jerk as a graphic on one of his boards?
So I'm watching football and eating chips and dip and being a typical guy for once in my life. This year I have actually cared about Auburn football which has given me and my dad some great quality bonding time...if only over the phone like tonight. He's all iced in down in Alabama and I'm waiting for the snow to start here at home. Maybe I should put on my Auburn colors skate shoes that I bought. Give them tigers a little mojo to get them going. A tiger should be able to beat a duck, right? Even one that's all confused and has people screaming War Eagle even though they are the Tigers. That's southern Alabama for you. Of course I'm biased. I'm from the northern part of the state. I'm used to rocket scientists that are so smart they are dumb. They can send a man to the moon but can't dress themselves. I swear the greatest thing to happen to engineers is the invention of zelcro fastening shoes. It was part of the uniform. That and slacks two inches too short and windbreakers.
It's killing me that my foot is finally healed and ready to skate and it won't stop snowing or stay warm long enough for me to go skate. Nor do I have the time to go hit up the slopes for some snowboarding. I feel the need to move, at speed, on a board of some sort.
TOUCH DOWN!
okay I'm going back to watching football. I guess my shoes did bring them luck.
