Silverfish Fantasy Football League
i am almost positive that this is going to go over like a freaking lead balloon, most skaters are into the individual/extreme sports as opposed to organized steroid-addled jock fests...but i was wondering if there would be any interest in my putting together a silverfish fantasy football league over on yahoo.
it might be kinda cool if everybody named their teams after their silverfish id, so we'd know who we were playing & 5hit. figure we could do it for pride, or have some sort of goofy prize, like everyone must send the winner a lightly used piece of skate crap they never ride. we only need 10 teams to make a decent league.
anyway, lemme know if anyone is interested.

Im not a member of Yahoo (infact, I hate it) and I dont know anything about "football" but if I get to get competetive with other SF members count me in.
This is "American football" right? because "soccer" just isnt cool is it?

in a nutshell, you draft actual NFL players based on the level of performance you expect from them this season. you can play only a limited number of players any given week. you will always have players on your "bench" whose performance that week doesn't count. so you need to chose who you think is going to do really well in his game that week, based on the skill of the player and the quality of his oponent. each player gets a score based on the ammount of yards and touchdowns they accumulate that week. yahoo actually does a fairly good job of explaining this too.
the interesting thing is, each week you "play" another team in the league in a fake NFL type schedule, with wins, losses and the rare tie. yahoo keeps track of your record, and the best teams go to the playoffs, with the winners there going to the "silverfish bowl."
also, through the course of the season, you can add free agents (players on nobody elses team who you think will be good). but for every player you add, you have to drop one, who someone else can then add. in other words, don't drop your best player bec he is gonna be hurt for a few weeks, cuz you don't want someone else to pick him up for when he gets healthy!
is this making any sense?

it is a little, but yahoo tells you who your guys are playing & whether they are hurt or not. so they keep the research down to a bare minimum. i will admit, it does help if you are following football, so you can make decisions like:
"hey, my best running back is playing a team w/ a great defense, while my backup running back is playing that crappy team. maybe i will bench the normal guy & start the backup this week."
it's like your the coach/GM of your own football team.
