Changing parents opinions of skateboards. A slow process.
For about a year now I have been riding my board to school with my girls. Both of my girls proudly talk about the boards that they have made and even have done reports in class about their skating.
This morning when I was leaving the school another dad stopped me to say that they bought a board over the weekend for their 9 year old girl. She had been asking for one for a while and they were very apprehensive about it. He told me that after seeing my girls and I cruising to and from school and hearing their daughter repeating my girls stories about boarding they could see that it wasn't all about "Stunts and Trick riding, and hanging out not doing anything" and decided to let her try it out. He said that she loves it and it made her very happy, but she was having trouble with the turning it because the trucks seemed to be really tight and wondered if that was normal. I took the time to explain how to adjust the trucks and that they could get softer bushings for it as well, and to give me a call if they needed help with any of it.
Just think. If we all got just one more person into boarding each year, well, we'd all have one more person boarding. Think of the possibilities. (insert evil laugh here)

It took a number of dubious recounts to rest the title away from Enema Combatant and Al Franken but the votes have been bought certified and it's a Chi+Spiegel New World Order from here on baby!

Good point tomahawk.
But let me leave you with this:
Bezerkely
My father-in-law went to school there in the '40's back before the trees on campus were growing ugly naked people.

When I was younger San Berdo was nothing more than a pass-thru on our way to the mountains. I couldn't understand why anyone would live here. I had no idea that I would meet the woman of my dreams (who was raised the area) and settle here. It's not so bad really. Well, we don't live in SB proper. We are to the east of it and ours schools are part of the Redlands School District. We don't spend much time in SB itself.

sweet. i always take a break and talk to spectators, around here we often get people bringing their kids out onto their lawns to watch and some older guys taking pictures.
