Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.
2. Alter the entries as follows:
Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true" [right click, toggle]
Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30 [right click, modify]. This means it will make 30 requests at once.
3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves.
The more requests you put the more pages/grafics/fonts it loads at once if you have a fast computer with atleast 2 gb of ram then i would reccomend to set the max requests to 75 - 10 anymore than that would not mess up youyr system but your firefox will lagg like hell, if you have 1 gb ram then you could set it about 50 and If you're using a broadband connection you'll load pages MUCH faster now!
...and after couple of hours later, the memory leak from firefox starts to leak in, and use up most of your RAM, especially if you open a sh!tload of tabs.
? I need to spend more time on the internet, I kinda know what those words mean but together I missed your point.
I just quoted this tip from another forum...didn't seem to get any poor responses there and it seemed to do the job. obviously this is a shotty mod. Sorry if It did more bad than good.
Could your provide help on undoing this mod for myself and others who may want to change back? changing back from true to false and adjusting the maxrequests are obvious but I'm not sure how to delete the new Integer I created.
btw, the coastlongboarding server will reject your connection if you have this mod on.
Works fine for me and I have had this setup since FF3 was a beta.

There is nothing wrong with doing this that I know of. As long as you set a reasonable number of connections, you should be fine. As i said, I have used this for quite some time on several versions of Firefox. My max connections are set at 25.
I've used this customization since, ohhhh, FireFox used to be called Phoenix, which is a good 7 years.
Gotta love pipelining.
