not talking about mongo or goofy, but about the angle of your feet with respect to the centerline.
as shown in the pic, this is how my foot position has progressed with my skateboarding. my front foot has always been angled the most, but my back foot has changed. I used to have my back foot angled similarly but opposite the front foot (leftmost pic), but now when im doing speed carving/bombing, my stance has switched to both feet parallelish (back foot angled slightly less than the front foot).
I really like the feeling of parallelish feet for hard carving, and im thinking of switching this over to my snowboarding stance. the problem is for standup slides/gnarness, i switch my stance back to the middle one more.
any thoughts/opinions on feet angle for snowboarding? i'm still new to this.
Yeah I heard duck is for more freestyle, park where you have to ride switch a lot and (from longboarding) -- parallel lets your back knee bend to let you get deep carves. I think i'm going to ride +7 +15 this year. I sort of want to ride +10 +15 but it might be too much? what are you going to try?
sweet, good to see my intuition is correct. now i just need skills...
I agree... soo fluid. I'm a skier, not a boarder, but if I were that is my kinda style.
I end up faceplanting anyway I try

Yup, it's the symmetrical vs asymmetrical issue which shows up in other riding sports as well.
Twin tip kite/wake boards are rigged like like your first pic and kite surfing/speed are rigged like the latter.
Incidentally, slalom water skiing - not to be confused with the teh ghey skateboard sport - but slalom as in a single water ski relies on an almost speed stance with one foot directly inline with the other.

Georges: Ducked ftw. Start with your angles at about 12/-12 and work from there. General rule of thumb is to not have your back foot ducked more than your front, and about shoulder width apart.

last season i was on +15/-not too much. it felt very good, but right now, my hard/high speed carving on my skateboard is almost all parallelish, so im planning on trying it. hitting up tahoe next friday/saturday, and i def plan on bringing a screwdriver so i can play around. i'll give "ducked" a go
Second day riding today and I switched my stance up a little. Went from 15-5ish and a 22" width to 15-15 and 23.5".....what a difference, wow. It's not so extreme that you can't still do everything you normally would. Riding switch, pressing, and spinning stuff has gotten a lot easier for me with the widened duck stance, and I'd totally recommend trying it out. Worst case scenario is you hate it and change it back, big deal.

i have 2 boards. i ride both the same. front angle: 15* back angle: -12*....it is duckish enough for the park but also gives enough carve. i like it alot

Exactly what i just did. Widened my stance about an inch or two, and ducked 15-15. mmm tasty.
i have tried a lot of stances, and widths, and for every kind of riding ive settled on 16 -15 and real wide, doesnt hurt my carving at all that way, and works great in pow and stable off the jumps
sweet, im extra stoked to try this out now that i know i'm not completely wrong!
we'll see how more parallel works out. i have little interest in parks, and even less skill in switch riding, so it's not an overwhelming concern.
stoked!
your third pic of both feet pointing down the mointain is more for alpine style boards and big deep carves.
it is easier to learn how to ride with your back foot straight and your front ducked.when you duck out the back foot it makes it easier to ride switch and opens up your hips making it easier to spin and balance on rails/carving
i ride mine 15 -15 cuz i ride lots of switch, 180 and 360 cliff drops FTW
