I dont do flippy tricks, i go fast.
And it takes twice as much skill cause when we fall its twice as hard to get up.

Um, i dont consider myself a skater. As far as im concerned im a longboarder and nothing else.

No offense to you skater people, (i know a lot of you guys do both on this thread) but yall kinda ruin it for the rest of us. Jsut the other day i found this really nice bike/pedestrian path that winds along the river near my campus. I was cruising down it enjoying the scenery of the river and the beautiful day when i came across a sign. It said skateboarding prohibited. That pissed me off, i dont know why i shouldnt be allowed to cruise down that path like everyone else.

Then i realized that they are talking about the idiots that would sit there in the middle of the path doing kickflips while bikers come by at 30 mph trying to avoid them. That pissed me off, so now i have to come up with a convincing argument that i am in fact not skateboarding, i am longboarding if a cop ever tries to fine me.

So there you go, skaters stick to your skateparks and drained pools and leave the nicely paved scenic routes to us.

I do indeed own a "park" board, and I indeed can kickflip, however will you ever find me doing a kickflip in the middle of a bike path in a park? no, that's stupid, I like to stick to more controversial areas like stairsets of hospitals! I honestly don't think that anyone would want to skate that path and do a kickflip there surely your city knows that people who skate street aren't attracted by that kind of terrain, so then maybe the sign wasn't placed there with the intention of not allowing "idiots that would sit there in the middle of the path doing kickflips" but it is there for some other reason..

you see Danny Way get up after that fall at the x-games? 20 some foot drop, and he ends up breaking his collar bone and his foot, and the guy still stands up!

That fall was so gnar. Dude's a true beast. Skaters that do in fact skate vert can suffer the same, if not worse fate than a speedboarder. They don't wear leathers, and can fall at heights of 20 feet in the air.

vert falls are much gnarlier than most downhill crashes/falls. Unless you go off the side of a mountain of if your board has 20ft of risers and you fall off that.
