yeah, argue that you're not "skateboarding" with a cop. that always goes over really well. cops love to hear inane arguments about pop-culture perceptions of "longboarding" that have nothing to do with the engineering and legal realities of what is defined as a skateboard.

here's a clue: don't debate it as longboarding vs. skateboarding. leave the skateboard part in there, because all you're doing is insulting their intelligence (and your own) to deny that a longboard is a skateboard. it's "longboard skateboarding" if you are really going to go down this road.

and if they actually want to debate, just give them Chaput's phone number (better yet, give Chaput their number)

i came across a sign. It said skateboarding prohibited. That pissed me off, i dont know why i shouldnt be allowed to cruise down that path like everyone else.

Your argument is less than convincing. The cop will look down at your piece of wood with 4 wheels and call it a skateboard. Because that's what it is! In fact, you'll more likely enrage the cop with that argument.

this is so very true. i made a cop so angry that he wrote me two tickets. haha

i wasn't doing anything wrong until i started to argue with the cop. i wasnt even on my board. but i asked him why this and why that.

i fought it in court and the tickets went away but. my advice is to just go with the flow. if he says get off and walk, then get off and walk

Closest thing I've had to that was a cop ask my bud if his Zigs were Road Riders. Said he used to skate, and recently a bought a longboard for his nephew. We were sweating it out because we passed him fast on the way down the hill.

yeah, i ride a coupl eof bowls and carve routes at a skatepark out here. but you are right, europe seems to be much cooler in that aspect if you are correct
