Then we could argue about whether what grizzly bears do constitutes crushing--I say hell yes. Sometimes they even
use deadfall traps--but they definitely use their mass as a crushing weapon.
I think wolves pouncing on field mice in the tundra is a bit of a stretch though.
alright you win that small argument, kinda. Kraken are a mythological creature based on giant squid, and scorpions sting their prey (at least thats how they kill them). but i still win the thread.

if the narwhale got a running start and the killer whale was sleeping the narwhale could shank the killer whale through the head. but thats hypothetically. realistically the killer whale would kick its ass.
i think all squids have hooks. colossus squid just has way bigger (read gnarlier) ones.

thanks for the info, i want to put my 70mm zigs on but thats probably too tall. how do you feel about the ben wei? i might get that for my next board, can you use the kick tail at all?

Wikipedia actually says that they rarely use the tusks to fight.

Why is it that when people find creatures that look like creatures thought to be myth, they insist they aren't the
same creature and make up a new name--because the other name is for a 'mythical' creature. I bet if someone
found a herd of horses with narwhal like horns they would give them some stupid name and continue to deny the
existence of unicorns.
There are a great many enormous squid--Humboldts get pretty damn big if they live long enough. Most of the largest we know
so little about and have so little evidence they may as well be mythological.
Oh, and scorpions do not sting to kill. They sting to paralyze. They then hold it in their pincers and gradually feed
it into their maw--which pulps it, a type of crushing. I jbow this because I had a scorpion when I was younger.
We fed it a lizard once, and the lizard recovered and started struggling when the scorpion had gotten to the halfway
point. The scorpion's annoyance was noticeable as it gave a second injection.
I say injection because the way they move their stinger resembles a doctor injecting a painkiller.

i'll give you the scorpion thing, but that first part just seemed like a bunch of nonsense. if you were talking about giant squid when you said kraken, why did you also list squid?
narwhals don't have horns, they have tusks.

i personally feel that 66mm is perfect. 70mm IMHO would be a little too tall. the ben wei is awesome. I bought it for my girl so we both have a mini to take on trips (airplanes and such), but I freakin love the little thing. the kick is actually really functional, even though its small. the nose is good too.

Because I have no way of being certain if a kraken is a giant squid, or if krakens are misidentified as giant squid.
For comparision, the vampire squid was originally misclassified as an octopus.
There is so little information of the types of giants out there, that it seems plausible to think maybe one is a third type
of cephalopod, the kraken.
Tusks eh? Makes sense given they are ivory--if memory serves.
