A request for the artists out there
Is there anyone out there that has the ability (and would be willing) turn turn a photograph of my girlfriend into a cartoon/anime using photoshop/illustrator (or something similar) for me so that I could have it screened onto an xvd board? I don't have the photograph I would want yet but I want to know if anyone who would be willing to do it for me before I go through the trouble. I'm pretty good with graphics stuff but I've seen what some of you can do and I'm sure someone out there could make it look much better than I ever could. Let me know if someone is interested, maybe we can work out some kind of small fee.

I'd be willing to bet that Rodgon could (and would) do it.

Anime, maybe. Pin-up? You betcha.
Would probably help to know how many colors you are looking for, and how you plan on applying the finished work.
Depending on the process of application, you have many different concerns in how you receive the image.
For example, if you are using a very simple four colour silkscreen, then you want the image in four layers with
each colour locked to 100% flow and opacity. On the other hand, if you are doing more complicated stuff, like a traditional
manga using pasted on tone layers for shading--you obviously need more layers...
Note: I am at best a hobbyist in this, these are just some things to think about to help make communication clearer,
and final assembly more painless.

Heck, I'll try it.
I won't even charge you anything, because you probably won't like what I'll do.
But how hard is it to send a digital file?
Just make the file you want availiable, set some parameters, and let people have at it!
Send the winner a set of Reds or whatever.

Thanks for the input, but I want this graphic so I can have XVD Longboards put it on a board. I'm not positive of their method but I think they basically print out the graphic full size, slap it on the board then fiberglass (or something) over it.
here is an example of one of their boards....

I just threw the anime thing in their for lack of a better word. I was actually leaning more towards the vectorized look (of course I didn't realize it when I was writing the original post) with kind of a stylistic touch. I'm not really looking for a zombie girlfriend drawing this time around, but maybe a future board! haha. Thanks!

That sounds like a good idea, however the photograph I would want done will almost definitely be my girl in her underwear/bikini so I don't really want to just post that up. If there are several truly interested people I would have no problem sending them the photo individually though (again a fee situation can be worked out if necessary), assuming of course they promise not to share the unedited photo.

Actually vectorizing was one Idea I had in mind but I coudn't think of the term when I was writing this. However thats why I am willing to work out some kind of fee for good work.
That being said, I am really open to any style of turning a photo of my girl into a cool graphic for a board, so long as when it's done its got a drawing/cartoonish/vector/whatever kind of look and is fairly true to the original picture.
The picture I have in mind will be my girl standing square towards the camera with my dog on a chain standing at her feet with a white background. I would want the graphic printed longways on most likely an XVD Dancr.
Anyone up for it? I can get a good camera and probably get the photo taken this weekend if there is some serious interest. Thanks for the replies guys!

Re: A request for the artists out there
ok so after many delays i finally have a set of pictures. I have narrowed the set down to five potentials. Which one do you guys think would be best for the bottom of an xvd longboard? keep in mind that the image will be cut down so that my girl and the dog take up the whole board....no surroundings...if that makes sense...
edit: fishies can never play nice.
So which one do you think is the best and why?

Re: A request for the artists out there
i would go with number two. Seems like it would fit best on a longboard due to the shape

Re: A request for the artists out there
thanks for the input. keep in mind that it's ok if part of the image gets cut off (like my dog's back end in the pictures where he is turned sideways).

Re: A request for the artists out there
My vote goes for number 1, would be 5 though if the dog wasn't being lazy =]
