What do YOU do after school?

So.. I've been bored lately..
Really bored...

I came home from school one day and realized that I had eight hours of free time, and absolutely nothing to do. I've completely abandoned all academic pursuits; I've got all my credits to graduate high school, thus, no homework. I'm in three art classes, so when I get home, I really have no desire to work on yet another art project.. I skate on most sunny days, but I'm the only person within about a hundred-twenty-mile radius of here who skates.

So, I feel the urge to get out and be sociable, but I'm lacking an avenue to pursue socialization. I have few common interests with people around me, because I live in the midwest where it's all about football/basketball/baseball and there are seriously NO PEOPLE here who like what I like.

I find some enjoyment in simply walking the streets downtown late at night and seeing who I run into.. But everyone I meet is typically older than me by several years. So I can hang out with them on the street, but when they walk into a bar I'm back to walkin' by myself.

So one day, I actually started asking some of my friends, "What do you do after school?"
Many who don't work or play a sport replied with, "Uuuuuh, I dunno.."
So what the f*ck? Am I a loser or is everyone like this?

My ex-girlfriend told me that when she's bored, she calls a friend to just hang out. I've always kinda thought that it's better to be bored with someone than to be bored alone, but I can't bring myself to just call someone to do nothing - whenever you call someone to hang out, you are obligated to entertain, and I'm a shitty entertainer.

I used to fill my time with doing stupid #### and smoking weed, but that's just not cool with me any more. I've had to talk to too many douchebag cops over the years and I'm just done with that.

So.. What do you do after school?

Invite people to do that. Get a ton of people to just chill at a park or something. I have found that in most of highschool, people are generally bored. Maybe invite your friends to skate with you.

I am the exact same as you, just a few years older and out of highschool. I am too old to hang out with anyone around here who has any of the same interests as me.

Most people my age are crawling the bars and experimenting with drugs. All the while vying for each others attention and respect with expensive name brand clothing.

I'm polar opposite, and thus so far I have not made any new pals. I go to the gym, go to work, ride my bike, hike, or wander around, in some random order throughout my day. I'm considering moving somewhere else where I can interact with people like me.

If you have an extra junky board in your quiver you could get some people to skate with you and teach them and stuffs. Get a job. Friends are really hard to find.
I think we need a tutorial on here called "How to Make Friends and Do Fun Things" (but not really).

In high school I made this club with a bunch of other seniors called "Doucetuff Club". We did stuff. We actually only went to the movies once, but we had cake every Wednesday that we called Douceday.

Read.
Get a job.
Volunteer. Seriously.
Take up another hobby (like music...bandmates = friends [sometimes]).
Or...I dunno...join a gang?


By the way, don't be hatin' on the Midwest now...I've lived in the middle-of-nowhere Michigan all my life, and I've been fine so far.

I get how you feel. When I'm not at school, which is four days a week. I smoke bud with my friends.
Eventually i plan on getting a job so i can do other things. Sooo i would get a job if i was you, then the avenues just kind of open. After getting a job, you might get some luck flirting with people... you've got a **** buddy. That will take up at least half of a day. Oh and the money from work is nice too cause now you can spend money on whatever your hobbies are. Then you can make friends through your hobbies... people love cool stuff.

Take up an insturment, or take up a religious activity. I have been raised in a catholic family and and go to a chatholic high school but... i find solace in yoga and meditation, also try doing something creative like poetry, painting, or lyrics. Also a good thing to take note on is even though it feels like everyone else in your entrire gade is doing some thing whilst you are in your house with your family their actuly not and most of them are in their house with their families making up stories about their epic weekends to tell to other douchsbags at school. Overall my final advise is experiment with drugs but stay the fvuck away from any opiates, cocain basied substance or methanmphetamine baised substance, as fun as they are two of em are now ruining my life. so yea, live your life aye aye aye instead of chasing that paper.
