Google's street view tool

This is probably the coolest thing I've ever seen... XD

I was just messing around in tech class, and I found this tool on google maps that lets you see the street view, like, 360 degrees all around you... It's nuts!

I went down mary hill at like 10kilobytes per second. I thought it was awesome. ^-^

yeah, i was getting directions from my house, and i accidentally clicked street view. The google van took a picture of me and my buddy skating on my street.

Im surprised at how many skaters aernt familar with this. use the "terrain" view to locate elevation changes in an area, and zoom in to see how the roads are built on the hills. A lot of major areas have street view and tis extremly useful in scouting an area for hills. Top notch app by google, as usual.

for a 3d perspective...

there was also some map site that provides a side profile of the road showing elevations...

Basic google earth will show elevation, you can use street view, and you can use the ruler. What more could you need? You can calculate grade, length, and even check the pavement quality (street view is ridiculously clear).

it really helps out when people tell you to meet at a spot and youre not sure if youre thinkin of the same one yer talkin about.. snap a screenshot and clarify.

great for checking out the neighborhood when youre looking at housing.

Yeah man, I didn't say it was new, I just said it was awesome.

And Joe, I typed Mary Hill WA in Google maps, and it took me to A Mary Hill in Washington. Maybe another Mary Hill? idk. :P
