Im sooo confused!?!?

OK... so, i went on daddies board shop and their prices are sooooo low.
So i found out it is in Portland in the USA (correct me if im wrong).
Im thinking of getting a nemesis and in american dollers it cost $165.
So i go to a currency converter and i put the us price in to convert it to aussie dollars.
AND THE PRICE OF THE NEMESIS IS $198!!!
So why is hopkin and board shop like 60 dollars more??? ($250 - $260)

Why is this???

import price, they have to make a living as well, they have to pay import tax on it etc etc

they have to keep the price up because of the competition in Australia. If you actually try ordering through the phone, they might actually out do the overseas price. But this depends on which board you want to get. Some boards here are not bought straight from the company but rather from another dealer so of course you can't beat others.
As the others have explained, there's shipping cost and tax that the dealers have to pay so it comes out to be costing more. You're just buying a single board and having it shipped here so it's not gonna cost you as much. You don't get taxed by Australian customs for bringing in 1 board. Shipping generally takes about 1.5 weeks in my experiences but could be longer depending on you luck.
Another thing you must consider is, do you want to support the longboarding industry in Australia or not. Buying boards from the local market will in turn allow them to bring it more and more boards and parts, and also sponsor more riders and events.
