Re: Sweet spots Tasmania
hey is this thread still active?
I'll be going to hobart, beginning of JAN 2011 and thinking of staying longer (till mid jan) to check out the GNAAAR...
anybody into that, or anyone that can show me around in that area?
looking forward to replies...

Re: Sweet spots Tasmania
A few of us are on both, If I was from syd or something I might care more about asra.
Market place used to rock, but we seem to get kicked out pretty quick now.
eh... shrugs, the lifts were nice though...
well, oceana's not a bad run, you can carve it up, or tuck it for a bit of speed.
Fair bit of traffic since they connected it though.
Skating's always a bit life threatening...
but we won't take you to sun-tzu for a while.
Got a helmet or gloves yet? - do it long enough both will save your life.
Should come out with us some time eh?
we're a few riders now, and there's different skill levels and interests.
There's places here that offer stuff to most of us in the same area too, which helps.

Re: Sweet spots Tasmania
Yeah last time i sakted through north hobart i was asked to hop off my board by the fuzz, but that's one time out of many, so it will probably not stop me.
Good thing about oceana is that you can see/hear cars coming from miles away, leaving plenty of time to avoid them, not like strikland ave, where they can appear out of nowhere!
I have a helmet (use to wear one on the shortboard, after my motorbike helmet saved my head from resembling a shattered watermelon one time), but not gloves yet... Sliding looks mega fun, and i intend on learning, but i'm waiting for my recently broken wrist to get some strength back before that.
Do you still try market place on the off chance? If so let me know when, i'd love to give it a razz! Was it cops or security that asked you to go? I can't really think of any others that would be accessable of a night.
Anyway, would be nice to skate with some others at some point!
Cheers

Re: Sweet spots Tasmania
Last time we skated there they just called the cops.
sucks, we used to have a good relationship with them, but they changed people or something.
