    nr, welcome!

Although I can't help you with shop locations (I'm in Minnesota just south of the Canadian border), we've got a strong Kiwi contingent and I'm sure somebody will get you pointed in the right direction.

There is plenty of information, both already in existing posts and in the heads of the folks here. The search button at the top right of the page will bring you boatloads of info, but it may take a couple of searches on different terms to get to what you are looking for.

Get that first board, learn a little bit, skate a lot and come on back!
Skate 'em if you got 'em,

    Francois

Hey man great shop in St Leonards, Sydney (if u dont mind the drive from newcastle).

    Hopkin Skate

Warehouse and shop address: Shop 3, 8 Northcote Street, St Leonards NSW 2065
    Phone: 02 8060 1588

Bought my 2009 rayne hellcat from there about 1 month ago, the guy gave me free griptape and put it on for me cause he's a champ. They're relatively good with price...they won't over-charge you for anything. My hellcat cost the same there as it did every where else. For a Sydney longboard shop they have alot of stock so im sure they'll have something u want (check out the pics of the shop on there website). Give these guys a try if ur still looking to buy a board, and also ask them any questions u have cause they know what their talking about.

    boardshop.com.au,
    hopkin.com.au and

I am sure they would be more than happy to hook you up with some gear
