A mate of mine was telling me about how in the US someone was showing him and a few other Aussies around some major attractions. The Yank didn't understand why the Aussies sounded so unimpressed, until my mate translated for him:

"mmm, not bad" = hey, thats pretty cool
"not bad at all" = wow, that's really cool!
