I second what Davey just said. Adrian has great service, and probably the biggest range and best prices in Australia. 'Twas a pleasure to do business with him.
Quit my job a couple of weeks ago, handed in my letter of resignation to the boss in the morning, and by the afternoon I was at the city Quiksilver store buying my first skateboard, a Sector 9 (couldn't find another store in the city area that sells longboards).
Still can't skate to save my life but am having a lot of fun. Any other beginner skaters out there?
*edited - by the next week I had my first fall resulting in my first skateboard-related scab on my elbow, and on the same night I had my first encounter with a rude upstart security guard.
I subscribed 2 days ago and thought I'd introduce myself. I moved to Melbourne from Amsterdam and I'm looking for some buddies to ride with here in Melbourne. I just bought my first longboard a few months ago, after not standing on a skateboard for several years.
Are there any longboarder meetings in/around Melbourne ? And who can tell me some good spots?
I'd like to meet people too, but I'm embarrassingly new to longboarding. I can't go downhill at any reasonable speed before shitting myself. I'm getting better though. I still have to learn how to stop. Last night I tried going down this slope near my home on my Sector 9, it picked up speed and I couldn't stop myself as I went straight through a set of traffic lights. Fortunately it stayed green until I got through.
another tassie boy in the midst...anyone got crews together? Hobart does, the Sabbath Skate Crew, just wondering if you guys have 'formal' crews running...
