It was great we hit two hills, a short, steep straight one, and a longer one that winds around a whole heap of streets. What's really cool with the 2nd one is that the straight-line distance between the start and finish is pretty short, and there are some steps at the bottom that take you almost all the way back to the start! The others also did some slalom, then Jeremy did some awesome sliding. No gloves, a wheelie bin lid instead :P
Excellent man.
The hills in Sydney can be pretty bloody steep. My mate there reckons he found a good spot on the weekend that was a hill that opened out into a huge carpark. Zero traffic.
Hes supposed to be sending me some pics, so Ill post em and find out where this place is for ya jb_.
Steve, yeah wouldnt I love to use flash too. I could make an awesome avatar using flash vector graphics that would go for ages with 30 kb to play with.
If only there was a style of flash animation that didnt allow action script. Then it would be safer.
hey guys, anyone heading to the ditch slalom race in sydney next weekend. we have 7 guys heading from brissy / the gold coast heading down for 3 days, 2 days of downhill and 1 of slalom, its going to be nuts
yeah, sorry about that leadfoot, been meaning to post up, but have been sick for 2 days....very...very...sick....
....but i'm okay now so on monday i will be posting those pics for you.
the pic is of my seriously abused 88a malibu rollerblade wheels...which slide...pretty well...do flatspot but you can smooth it right out next run.....they're not ideal, but hey- they were cheap.

Awesome
There are some not-bad places around the Olympic Park. It's pretty deserted pretty much all the time (more so during the week), massive wide smooth boulevardes with no traffic. The whole place is a bit flat though, and security is an issue :P

We run slalom at the P5 carpark at the Olympic Stadium - it's not super steep but it's a good cruisy hill. There's also some cruisy/hilly bike paths out past P5 towards the harbour.
Then there's Sydney Park (at St Peters) which has heaps of great hills. It's all narrow paths which is tricky - not much room for error!
The carpark you posted a pic of - I know it well!
SteveC - love the look of the slalom board. Does it have a bit of rocker or am I imagining things?
