Default Anyone Travelling to New Zealand?

    Hi folks,

I have a bit of a dilemma: I bought a board from overseas. There is a manufacturing fault with it (it's delaminating after only 2 months) and the manufacturer has agreed to replace it for me. Unfortunately, they really don't want to pay for shipping to NZ (about US$40-50 $NZ70-90).

They suggested I find someone else to buy a board off them and they'll send mine with theirs. There aren't that many longboarders in NZ, and it's not likely I can convince one to drop $NZ400 just to help me out.

Is anyone traveling this way from North America any time soon? Feel like bringing a deck with you?

I understand the company not wanting to shell out for shipping. I don't really want to pay to send the faulty deck back either (not that they have asked me to). What do you think of their suggestion? What do you think they should do?

It's a long time since I posted this...

Anyway, the company who will still remain nameless saw this thread and thanked me for not publishing their name. After posting they said they'd sort something out. They told me how to repair it until I could get it replaced, which I did and it has been fine since. I emailed them after a few months to see if a replacement was coming, but never received a reply.

My repairs have worked, so it's OK. But...

If when my board falls apart and it happens where the original delamination occurred I'll follow up with them.

There is at least one importer in NZ, but I don't expect them to have to deal with it.
