Re: The Kiwi Thread (and no, not the fruit)
has anyone seen the land transport add on tele? where the car drives over the land mines, and rolls down a bank.
I contacted NZ transport dept to find out what road that is, still waiting on a reply ,,it looks sic ,have a look at the seal and the grade that must be a 70kph hill, could just be camera angle, some good corners there too.
Does anyone know where that is,?
Krimes just did 123kph check it out on youtube,

Re: The Kiwi Thread (and no, not the fruit)
Hey Kooky, I'm keen to learn a bit from ya as I am new to the Longboarding game. When I was choosing which longboard to get it was a choice between the landyachtz evo & the loaded vanguard. I went with the vanguard as it seemed more versatile than the evo, with it's light weight & flex. I have 78a gumballs on her at the moment & I'm finding it really hard to slide them, they stick to the road like no wheel I have ever known. I'd be glad to get together for a ride & swap boards for a we ride too. I still want to do some gnarly downhill stuff & the vanguard feels like it might get a tad unstable at higher speeds so I am still considering getting an evo. I did Waimea Rd from the hospital down to Mc Donalds & that was very sweet although the board did feel a little shaky at its highest speed. It might of just been my style though, I'd be really keen to hook up man. I live on Emano Street, I read earlier you're up Washington Valley, so we're close to each other. Have you bombed Washington Valley from the top of the intersection??? If so, how did it feel, it looks like one wild ride.

hey good to hear that theres someone else but me around this town, Youve done the hospital run nice, when did you it , like what was the traffic like, Ive only done it in the wee hrs, yes gumballs are hard to slide, you`ll have to break them in first, then... most people say they slide ok mine still stick like mad, and no you cant ride my evo....
Washington rd is nice but I havnt done it right from the top the hair pin is tight and you cant see if any cars are comeing ,that freaks me a bit.especaily because everyone driving up crosses the center line,so thus far only from that corner down still nice but,
I`ll be up collingwood st around 7pm if it isnt raining, do you have a helmet, gloves?

Re: The Kiwi Thread (and no, not the fruit)
Cool, All good. I haven't a helmet yet I have knee n elbow pads & gloves. I intend getting a helmet so I can learn to slide these wheels, sliding was so much easier on a short-board. I did the hospital run last weekend at 4am in the morning after watching some rugby, it was cool, no cars at all. I understand about washington valley bombing that hill from the top would be freaky as, & that hairpin, yeah mad.

Re: The Kiwi Thread (and no, not the fruit)
The road in the road saftey add where the car slides off the road is in the wiarapa. They wouldnt give me the exact road , it may be worth try`n to find as it looks like a sweet road to ride,
