Well I'm still lookin in Christchurch, Nelson is the best I've ever skated in and that's only from a massive selection of like...3 places?

Re: The Kiwi Thread (and no, not the fruit)
yep there are some nice spots around here , but not really long enough,
Ive only got up to 55kph on the roads here , not enough good seal,
if anyone is up or down this way upper Queen street in Richmond has just been resealed I went for a ride on it last week , nice for a wee carve,
there are heaps of cars around at this time of yr tourist spot and all that, so early morning is the best time to get out and about, after 7.30 its getting busy.
round the back of the collages there are some short quick streets if your into sliding thats the spot to go.
But hey ChCh you got all the new subs on the port hills must be some nice runs up there,
Waimea rd is a given but there are some nice rds running off there too. I go all over really . but there isnt anyone here for me to go ride with , which is a bummer , I think it holds me back some from pushing myself to do better, if your up here pm me , Im busy this time of yr but I`ll make the effet to get out,

it depends on what you measure it on. If its on number of runs then Auckland, i can go out and find a new hill to skate everyday if I wasnt so lazy due to the size of Auckland.
But I suppose you would have to take into account amount of cars on the runs, quality of the runs and weather.
I havent skated many places apart from around Auckland. Ive seen some pretty cool runs in wellington (didnt have my board to skate them though) that are really long and you could get heaps of speed on.

Re: The Kiwi Thread (and no, not the fruit)
I was flying out of AK last mth and there was heaps of new roads and subdvisions towards the south around the hills there, wouldnt know what the area was called, but from the air it looked pretty sweet,
AK is so spead out ,you could get a new run everyday,
apart from the cities there are some nice in land roads , down sth ,
and central otago that I want to check out .
what say the Dunedin crowd?

Re: The Kiwi Thread (and no, not the fruit)
I found a nice wee run in Chch the other day... in Halswell of all places on the hill at the end of kennedys bush road. it's a nice long mellow one and theres no traffic. The seal isn't that great, but then it's not too bad either... Map17 (see sZ12).

Yea the port hills are good, I've yet to check out the new subdivisions though, I think I'll tag that onto the Kennedys road look.
Dunno why I'm looking for spots, I'm still re-learning to skate for gods sake Baby steps, baby steps.
Hey Im no dh racer I just like to have fun bombing +carving you get better everytime you go out, fine those good runs and have fun

Re: The Kiwi Thread (and no, not the fruit)
So checked out the kennedy's road DH, way too advanced for my little ole self, I'll take the cashmere road gentle slopes for now. Chch that is, Halswell is a treasure trove of DH runs, some nice full roads there to carve up, hungover weekends for the win!
