On the site is says they will arrive in Orewa on the 19th Jan, then Auckland on the 20th and then have some rest days in Auckland. I guess it will depend on if they stay on schedule.

Re: The Kiwi Thread (and no, not the fruit)
Hey everyone, another newbie here...
At uni up in Aucks, but currently back in hometown Hawkes Bay earning some coin...
Had a coupla weeks with a friends longboard, mad rush everytime I got out, and only stacked once....
...Looking at feeding this growing addiction, can anyone suggest a reasonably good beginner setup? I've got a few years snowboarding/surfing behind me, but no real skating exp. I'm after a cruising/commuting setup to use down here as well as back in Aucks - been hearing a lot about these smooth shore hills...
Anyone have any experience with retro longboards (of NZ) ?? I'm looking at something around $200 max just for now, being a student and all...
Any advice at all would be sweet!
Churs in advance...\

Re: The Kiwi Thread (and no, not the fruit)
welcome Jd86.
have you checked out Trade me, lots of stuff there, how long a board do you want to ride , it makes some difference in what you will be able to do,
if your going to be just cruising around look at boards that can be pumped well for carving purposes, (loaded vangard, something with a bit of flex.) if you want to bombhills then you`ll need something a bit more stiff, , maybe a 2nd hand bomhills 43" or goddess,
but if you can get a little more cash together get and evo, They are low ,Drop deck, so easy to push, they are stable as so good for confidence ,and you will be able to take any hill as you get better,, And if you set them up with 180 randalls and gumballs they carve well too,
what board does your friend ride,?
get a helmet and pads, and learn to stop ,,very important,
your snow boarding skills will take you far, but remember it ant snow you`ll be landing on,
cheers.
