Hey DukeofNZ I was out for an early skate today and run into a young guy on your board
I asked him in a round about way if he knew you , pointing in the direction of your house,
once he said ...oh duke,, I thought he must be legit and hadnt just scored your board.
It`d be good to catch up for a skate anytime, that includes anyone else too.
Well I have been lurking around for quite some time and only just now rearing my ugly mug.
Hmm... I live in Dunedin and got into longboarding at the start of this year but only just got my first board a few weeks ago from Nacho - Flex 5 vanguard with RII 180's and pink zigs. I skate every single day with out fail and I love every minute of it. Startin ta get a few tricks down and I live on a savagely paved hill which sucks in the wet. Thought I might chuck myself on the fish to see if I can find more people to skate with other than my 2 fellow four wheeled friends.
Can someone post this on the Need Not Ollie forum about a bomb on Brooklyn Rd tonight? ((Sunday 8th June))
My access is denied for some reason, I think my computers just bein a queer.
An if anyone wants to give Louie a text an tell him aswell, thatd be good too (my phone got nicked) His numbers on one of his posts on the Brooklyn hill discussion thing.
Ima go about 9ish, meet at the busstop if anyones keen.
And if anyone has a car aswell, thatd be terrific.
Um, I think thats all, who's down?
WELLINGTON DH THING

So I was wondering, what are the roads of NZ like this time of year?
I haven't been to the north island much, and not since converting to Longboardism, which changes your perspective of a road entirely.
Down here it sucks at the moment. Flat sucks. The roads have been from very damp-running river constantly for the last month. Had two good days with which to enjoy the concrete, and I was working on one.

find a multi level parking garage and your problem will be solved.
roads in auckland are sweet (except if it rains). they do get a little bit wet and take a little bit longer to dry if its been a cold night.
well they arn`t to bad here ,just not long enough and we dont have multistory car parks,
the council have put new seal on some of the streets around me so there are some nice we runs opening up, ..and we have a new skate park orthough I dont ollie .
Hello Kiwi's...my wife just finished an art project with my Kracked Skulls 46" Scimitar, she burned her design and then stained over it. She asked me to post it in your thread for feedback...

Sounds great!!
I've seen some pics of your trucks, very nice. If I have a bit of extra cash, I'd definitely get a set. But, I need a proper helmet and some new gloves first.

Great to see some kiwi's making stuff!!
glad you like them, you might see a set at Maryhills this year
Id say get the helmet first, that way you can ride a lot faster - safer and become an old fart like me

that looks pretty good , like the grip too, Did you know theres a tribe in Indo that have very similar art designs as Maori, true.
Hey Kooky, had look at your trucks and would like a pair to put on one of my decks. I'm an ex pat living in Sydney and ride decks I design...your trucks are a rad design and would look crazy on one of my boards ... my email is j56@comcen.com.au .... would appreciate a bit more info...
...Has anybody seen the new Hellcat board, I just got one today & it's the bomb, it has a black top & looks alot stronger than the previous model. I got it off Nacho at Bestboards, same place I got my Vanny from. The Vanguard rips as a carving board but for downhill the Hellcat kicks ass. I'll put a few pics up when I get around to taking some. If you're around Kooky I'm on dayshift hours at present, maybe we should get together soon, text 0212038864. Sweet Runner.

Hmm one problem.... there is only two good parking buildings in town and I haven't tried at one of them but both of them are council owned and both of them are in the no skating area of town. My and mates got kicked out of one of them on our second run down which sucks and my best mate wasn't keen to go back there as he cleans that carpark for the council and if they recognised him they might just fire him............. we do have some beautiful runs in the summer though.

I'll be watching the pictures to see these kooky trucks in action now!!!!
Have you tried dropping through those trucks?? They seem pretty low already, but imagine some kooky trucks on a dropthru with some big wheels, flyweels nice. The base plate looks a bit bigger than R II for instance. But im sure something would work out.
Also for those of you that might not now already, myself (Sugar Boards) and Nacho from Best Boards are holding the second Outlaw Race:
just got back from a short trip to Oz , lovely and warm, what the hell happend here brrrrr...
I am getting over the flu so I only managed a short morning skate around surfers..just to nakerd.
Loadkiwi I`ll be in touch for a ride around soon, theres a nice wee run from around the back of the schools and new seal in some spots might have to wait until it warms up a bit.

Hamilton road are a bit of both, When you hit the new suburbs its real smooth riding and a few short step and long shallow hills, and the man streets arn't too bad either.
Name is Joe and im a chch local. Only just getting into longboarding but have already made one very basic shaped plank for a mate. Just got some wood out of a press today and will rough cut it tomorrow (hopefully).
Any of your guys got any second hand trucks youd be keen to sell?
