Thumbs up Re: The Kiwi Thread (and no, not the fruit)

hey hobo (don't mean that offensively)... liking the video... not often you see kiwi stuff on the web! about time.

lol, i've put together a short one too - just of me and a mate hitting up the 24 hour car park in town!

[edit: i apologise for the quality - it was filmed on my cell phone - and the music in the background - sorry about that too!]

oh, and for sure we'll be careful if we ride at your spots down there. i know its hard enough finding decent places to skate - let alone actually convincing the owner/staff that you're not trying to tear up the place!

come on kiwis - post more of your vids/pics!!

thanks for the hello kookyfish

my daughter is 14 and is really enjoying the longboarding, just starting to do some stepwork and developing her own style.

cool vid nocturnal.. a little hard to watch, your phone must have a massive memory for video. long too, but great to see what you experience on a skate

Boardriding Hobo is my other half.. we did the hillbillies vid together...

I've done some surfing vids too

Hey man, just off the top of my head a few places to ride are...

Summit Road (from Mt Pleasant to Evan's Pass)
Dyers Pass Road (the top section)
Major Aitken Drive (Broad Oaks/Huntsbury Hill)
Penruddocke Rise (Westmorland)
Basil Place (McCormicks Bay)

Basically just cruise round the hills one weekend and stick your nose up random streets you see... there's a few goodies to be found, but I can't remember them all by name...

Talking n00b

Hey all I'm in Orakei. Been lurking for a coupla weeks. Have been longboarding for about . . . 30 hours. No kidding I decided to get a pintail just for cruise \ carve. Bought one yesterday (sat).

Skated (learned, fell off plenty) for 2 hours in the carpark at work. Had another shot today for an hour or so.

Tonight I couldn't settle so I went and scoped out the carpark across from work. 6 stories of coolness. Cue more . . . learning (lots of running, and a trip home for a socket to tighten trucks)

Leg pain is terrible. I was hurting but just didn't want to stop. Must have done 20 runs down
OK so the first couple involved more time chasing my plank than staying on it.

. . . and the security guy who drove up and asked if it was my blue falcon on level one (it wasn't) . . . ten points. "Do you mind if I skate here" "Weeelll . . . you aren't supposed to but I dont remember seeing anyone on a skateboard"

Stoked?? Hell yeah!!. And the lift sure beats walking uphill or pushing a flat carpark.

Hey kookyfish, how's that evo of yours?

Where did you order it from? TradeMe, or the States?

I bought one a few months ago and it's mind-blowingly quick! What setup are you running it on?

Have fun!
