Me and my friend are coming down to Australia for Newton's,
and we leave on the 16th, so I think you guys should have it before that so we can hit it!

how does march 8 sound to everyone. please let me know if this works otherwise we can do it 15.

Prizes:

1st place - 48" deadhead deck
2nd place - 32" Buttons model deck by Gravity
3rd place - 70mm wheels (still to decide which ones to give away)
Lat place - yes thats right, a prize for last place. the prize will be a surprise.

everyone will get free stickers. make sure you bring a helmet. we want to keep this as safe as possible.

race should start 4:30 pm or 5. this way, less people are on the road plus we can all hang after to chat and skate some more.

Zacho this is in New Zealand not Oz where Newtons is, which I wish i could attend,

Hi all. I'm not a user of silverfish as I normally reside on Frontsidegrind in the coneheads section. My name is Eddie. A friend sent me a link to this thread. I think its great you are getting a race together for the 15th. Unfortunetly I can't get there as its too far away from the deep south, but I'd be very interested in being kept informed. I ride a lot of slalom, have quite a few set-ups plus 125 cones. I've been slaloming for 30+years so I'm very experienced running slalom and I'd really love to finally get a slalom scene up and running in NZ. I've been toying with the idea of creating an event here in Wanaka but its sort of sidelined at the mo as I didn't know how many could actually attend so its great to see this thread and realise there are people out there. I'm entered for the Bathurst Newtons Playground event on 7-9th March racing Hybrid, GS and am very excited to have an entry to the Speedboard event. Bathurst is such an iconic racetrack its going to be amazing.
Perhaps if enough interest is there we can get a number of slalom and DH events going from grassroots right up... I'd suggest we use the frontsidegrind forum thou as there is info there already. But we can do it here just as easily if this is where you guys go most.
