Hey Wellington riders, or anyone between Kapiti and Tauranga: let me know if you want a ride. I'll be going alone, but it would be good to have company...
hey guys. just 2 more weeks to the race. was hoping to get things started around 4:20pm on saturday for the point to point race which will be held in papamoa or the mount. i think papamoa has a safer and better setting. nothing too long. for those who will be here earlier, we can meet up for some hill sessions around welcome bay, oropi, etc. we can meet in our place since the hills are just around the area.
so we also have a few more spot prizes. was thinking of having a few additions to the race like the longest nose manual on a Longboard Larry OSD. other suggestions are welcome on what we can do for fun.
Hey Joe,
Jestah and I are considering going up from welly - when are you heading up?
Leave Saturday morning, home Sunday some time. It's about a 5hr/500km drive from Kapiti so if it's starting 4pm-ish I'd want to leave about 9 so there's a couple of hours to chill before it gets started. Earlier would be OK too.
would have liked to come to this , but have just had a herina op. so out of action for a couple of weeks , make sure you post pics for us unatendies, is that a word?
Hey Joe,
Jestah and I are considering going up from welly - when are you heading up?
and Nacho:
Neither Jestah or I have leathers - how mellow will this hill be...?
hey. some hills are steep but there are a lot of mellower ones. a helmet and pads would be sufficient. most hills are short but real fun. plenty steep hills to slide if thats your thing. looking forward to meeting all of you. the team from skate new zealand dropped by for a couple of days here. bummer it was raining but we really enjoyed their company. real great people.
i pray every night that the weather will be good on the 15th.
the boys from bombardier (billy, tim, and josh) will be helping us out with the prizes as well as getting ready on the day. thanks guys. very much appreciated.
i've attached a photo of a few prizes. this pic does not include the prize from bombardier and i might add a few small things so hope you like 'em enough to come and play (skate i mean..). the prizes are mostly old discontinued stuff (the decks and sector 9 wheels) so for the next race, prizes will consist of bigzigz, trucks, decks, etc.
so adam and natt from SNZ suggested that the p2p race should be around 10km. what do you guys thing? should we make it shorter or longer. we can keep it short and head to the hills if you all prefer that.
But at 13 you need a "responsible adult" in charge. While I am a "responsible adult" I'm having a weekend away and don't want to have to be "responsible".
I'm not saying you need baby sitting, or that I'm out for a crazy weekend. I would look out for you but I don't want to be in the #### if something happened.
If you can sort that out between Jestah and your parents I can give you a lift.
I'm still ferriting around in my cupboards looking for suitable prizes but I was thinking of throwing in some wheels or trucks and a few other bits and bobs. I was thinking of maybe doing spot prizes for craziest fall, biggest road rash or something but I'll talk with Nacho about this on the day.
10km seems cool for the P2P, but then I don't plan to enrol in that one. Sounds like a young persons game to me.
Looking forward to meeting you all and having a fun day/evening.

Just found out that there is a Down hill skate jam on sunday.... maybe some one could hook me up with a ride back up to auckland and i could fly back to wellytown early in the week.
Can any one hook me up with a soft floor, comfy sofa or something flatish to rest me skate battered body?
Can't get to my gmail from work. I'll email you, Jestah and Tyler later. (Tyler I don't have your email. Mine's on my profile page. email me).
I was going to take a tent with me or sleep in the car. A couch/bed/floor would be good if anyone has one. If not I'll find a place to pitch a tent. Hadn't quite figured that out yet.
joe, jestah, ricardo, and tyler... you guys can stay over for the night if you want. we've got 2 couches and sleeping bags so no need to bring a tent. it will save you car space.
2-3 more people can probably squeeze in if needed.
just a warning, we have a 6 month old pup thats can rip your shoes apart if you leave 'em around so make sure you dont leave your phones, shoes, etc where the pup can reach it. other than that, shes real fun.
I'm still undecided because i have prior commitments on the Sunday so i have to go back Saturday night. If i decide to go i will have a few spare seats.
Anyone have an idea on how long it will take to get down there from Auckland?
