i'm willing to donate the prizes. all we need is at least 10 riders and the race is on. the more riders, the bigger the prizes. name, phone number, and e mail can be left on this thread or info@bestboards.co.nz
everyone gets free stickers.
helmet is a must.
if you want to organize a race in your local town, drop me a PM and we'll see what we can do.
i think we can start off with a flatland race so that all skill levels can join. once we know whos who, then we can progress to moderate DH (short ones) if there are enough riders. this is a good way to get people into it plus we get to meet fellow riders and share stuff. would you be keen? suggestions are welcome if you have any.
im keen as depending on the date (have to work a couple of weekends in march). i'm happy to drive any of the younger riders who need a lft from auckland down if the dates right too
thats real cool of you man. i'm aiming for 2nd or 3rd week of march. it depends how many riders are interested. so far i have around 3 guys interested. i think we can reach 10-15 riders easy.
let me know if you come across anyone. we can also do one in auckland. check out panapa rd in remuera or the albany area.
If my family don't come with me I'll try to fill the car with Wellingtonians. Cross post on Front Side Grind. You might get a few old skool guys interested too.
Count me in.... id be keen to have a go...
im gona put a vote in for the 2nd weekend of march too... and im keen to do it more often... at regular times through out the year...

Why outlaw? Is it just the hassle of getting permissions etc?
Is there some sort of skating New Zealand association/body that works on behalf of skaters etc?
The next obvious question: If not, should we look at establishing one? It would make it easier to get permissions etc and give us a bit more credibility. (sorry, don't mean to hijack the thread)

outlaw because its just hassle free like you said. but you have a really great idea about the association. im no good at forming this so if any of you want to start it, i'll follow. and yes, we would get more credibility that way and we wont get hassled as much by the cops.
this first race will be casual. since we are quite a lot already, the prizes will be pretty sweet. old stock but great quality plus a few new things. i'll mention the prizes next week.
