great to see you here Nick. Yeah the flushcut is really popular. Matty (Leadfoot) rides a Flushcut. He'll tell you many many good things about it. He loves it. I often ride with him and he has a stack of boards he lets people try. Thats the best way to do it. Try before buy.
oh and these are the trucks - Kookytrucks
Anyway, please feel welcome to ask us anything.

yeah eagle was awesome. did about 6 short runs with matty before i did the full run. we had a lot of fun on the short runs. and i tried out matts drop wedge. good fun.
I went as hard as i could on the full run, but there was a really strong head wind most the way down, so i only peaked at around 70. its surprising how much wind resistance can affect your speed. so yea, i'm pretty damn stoked after today. adds to my confidence.

it really depends on how you take it. but to be honest, i'm not sure. I'd have to try it out. I always judge hills wrong from the car.
is that the hill that your doing the outlaw on? because I wouldn't recommend it. its not really good for racing because of how narrow it is combined with the oncoming traffic. the traffic is minimal, but for racing you want no traffic at all. i also wouldn't do that road without leathers. too technical.
but hey its up to you guys.
My Kookys should turn up this week. can't wait to try em out.

Re: McAdelaide
ohh nice the kooky's look like some bad-ass trucks
Really, i didnt think it was that bad.. how does it compare to Eagle, speed and technicality wise? Oh and we were thinking that if an outlaw race was held there then we would have someone at the start and bottom with a stop sign and get the traffic to stop every time a heat is taking place. And the locals are really nice so im sure we can organise something with them so that they contact us when they are going to leave the house or whatever... Ive thought this baby through.. If it is too technical for the average joe though i might need to reconsider.

I just think that we all (including me) need more experience before we do any fast, technical racing and I consider that road to be fast and technical. I have never done any racing as such, but it is a lot different to free riding. in racing your adding two more elements to an already dangerous discipline. Competition and congested riding. These two things are the cause of most if not all the accidents you see in a race. So I would want to be learning this on a slower, trafficless run. but like i said, its not up to me. I just don't want you guys hurting yourselves or worse.
How was the Demonseed yesterday by the way?

Re: McAdelaide
Yeah fair enough, i spose i forgot that there arent going to be hay bales on each corner or anything like that and with a group of inexperienced riders and racers were bound for trouble. We could always try brownhill but that roads a little too slow... Do you have any ideas?
The demonseed is sooooo good its really stable but still super turny. I might get used to these bushings first then we can experiment a bit, the mushy feeling might just be because they are so different to randals

Re: McAdelaide
Ay boys
Yeah great sesh today Leigh!!
I had an awesome day today. Skated, vacuumed the house, did some gardening and then did some laps at Kartmania.
SAWEEEET
Yeah there is a bit more to Brownhill now. They,ve paved some more of it, about another km. Its a bit like the linear park in the fact that there is ups and downs, so it would have to be a cross country type race.
I wanted to check it out with Des on Friday, but he wasnt up for it.
Maybe you guys should check it during the week if you are looking for something to do.
As for me, Im still a little scared of that spot after I went there with scribbler and we watched some guy just losing control of his car there.

Re: McAdelaide
yeah, me and bow went and checked it out recently actually. we both tried it and agreed it wasn't worth the drive. too much pushing for us and still not enough cornering. it was pretty disappointing. we had high expectations after we heard about the bitch' extension. oh well.
-
Re: McAdelaide
bitch extension,....hahahhaaaaa
Well yeah, brownhill creek could be a bitch too.
Id like a cross city race.
Waterfall Gully to Henley. Map your own route.

that would be pretty cool. easy to organise aswell. however i don't think i could do all the way to henley. maybe from waterfall gully to "Malls Balls". that would be sweet. i'm definitely up for it. there could be a board swap after the waterfall gully section. a bit like when they go from swimming to cycling in triathlon.
On the subject of Waterfall Gully, I have always wanted to try it. similar to the Aldgate Valley rd, but a lot more mellow. If work is quiet this week, i'm definitely gonna check it out.

Re: McAdelaide
This waterfall gully place sounds alright, my only concern with a cross city race is its not really a competition, like i would much rather do something with a bit of speed and adrenaline...
I think it would be a pretty good idea though to do the city race kinda with our crews only cos im not sure how many other people would me interested in something that mellow

Re: McAdelaide
Haha i was looking at waterfall gully on google earth and saw this sweet road in Skye or something then i remembered that you had already found it... lol. What would that Knox terrace be like?
I was checking out montrose ave.. or roundabout rd as we call it and it has a 19% grade over about 600 meters... No wonder i died on it
