Re: McAdelaide
and a really good tip for u guys is try and get out of the habbit of crouching. it feels super safe, but its surprisingly unstable. most people start off using it, but the people that seem to lose interest in longboarding are the ones who continue on with the crouching. its all because they want to go faster, but their confidence won't let them. one of my mates loved longboarding and for a while there he was better than me. until i moved on from the crouch and onto the tuck. he's pretty much given up on longboarding now. he has been out longboarding with us only once in the last 8 or so months.
i still use it all the time on hairpins and stuff, but couldn't think of anything more dangerous on straights. study how people tuck.... watch lots of youtube.

Re: McAdelaide
Man this thread has expanded in the last few days.
Guys,..... get some avatars so I can tell you all apart. Make some, or use different silverfish avatars.
If you guys are into longboarding and are only new to the forums here at silverfish, this place will blow your mind!! Plenty to learn about, and some excellent people to network with here in Oz and overseas.
I am proud to say that this thread from little old Adelaide seems to be kickin ass on a national, and international level. We have a lot of members in here now!!
Heres a link to a Concrete Wave article about Garage Skating. May come in handy for ya, Its a download pdf. Ive posted it before but it was like 10 pages back. http://www.silverfishlongboarding.co...,26/Itemid,31/
While it would be great for us all to get together on a garage sesh, its probably better to keep it in small groups as larger numbers will get kicked out quicker.
Odowie and Sir Odowie. Sorry about the Skype mess, I finally got the audio working,... have been talking to Kooky in NZ. I will have to get my own webcam as this one is a loaner, but now I got it going,.... I am sold on Skype.
Leigh,.... Kooky wants some vid of you riding his trucks, so once you get em well and truly dialed in we have to get some footage.

Well I can give ya a lift anyway, and although Im not as fast as Bow I will get some footage. Yeah it would be awesome to see the trucks from that angle in a video, and being a film maker I know you can picture the shot and it would be sick.
But dont worry champ,.... bits and pieces,.... we'll do what we can.
Did Bow make it to Traxion?? I'm gonna get pants from that guy as well. Im totally loving the jacket. Makes me feel bullet proof.

Yeah man Kebbeks are friggin sick man. Number 1 in my book.

Kobe (metallic scribbler) from the Sabbath Day Crew in Tassie was here in Adelaide a few months back. He said for him, when he gets a wob, just relax and start to carve it out.
Havent actually put that to the test though.
A lot of people here at the fish say that wobbles are all in your mind. Id say that is half right. You have got to have your trucks a bit tighter for higher speeds, and it doesnt hurt to have a good bushing combination.
Just know your limits.
Personally, the randal 2 180s or 150s are better for under 45kph. when you start going faster than that some speed trucks are probably a good idea. Like Crails (45 degrees) or Randal DH trucks (35 degrees) maybe even some Kookys (42?)

Re: McAdelaide
oi check out this thread.
Chris Chaput (abec 11 wheels) suggests making your front truck outsteer your back truck.
For slalom its a ratio of 2:1. for DH its good to go 50 degrees front and 35 degrees back.
General Information about types of wheels. READ and LEARN

Re: McAdelaide
Yeah carving out wobbles is the best way, i think wobble get worse because you keep overcorrecting youself by trying to bring the board back straight, so the wobbles get bigger. If you think you are going to stack try and land on your knees if you have knee pads or do a little roll, dont put your hands out.. I broke my arm trying to do that lol
For that camera mount, im pretty handy with metals, how were you thinking of fixing it? I Think it would have to come up behind the camera then come down onto the truck mounts and get fixed there.
