sydney love seems to be pretty lacking here.... even the hobart contingent is way bigger
I and 1, possibly 2 other people people are going for a skate around the city tomorrow (Thirsday) night, hitting a carpark or two and maybe a couple of hills (hyde park, martin place and macquarie st are all pretty nice late at night). mostly a mellow cruise. meet redfern station at 6.

last night, we tried for the first time an absolutely SICK car park around the circular quay area. 12 levels of continuous downhill, in a spiral. (actually a double helix, so there are two spirals, one downhill in the direction of traffic and one against).
smooth as marble, and all the expansion gaps are plated over. not much by way of security either, from how things look. can't wait to try it again!
i'd been in there a few times before, but never bothered trying to skate it as i always thought it'd be crawling with security.

yeah i always wanted to ride one of those spiral type garages. they look soo cool.
i thought the sydney longboarding scene was pretty big. aren't there a few of the pros living in sydney? check ou some of the aussie forums, Charlie Dont Skate .com and Gravity Stunts .com. i think you'll find quite a few sydney guys on there.
i could be wrong tho.
anyway, good to see more aussies trying to spread the stoke.

Yeah, I keep an eye on charlie but didn't know about gravity stunts, thanks for the info.
There are a bunch of Sydney ppl who go on trips to Wollongong and the blue mtns during the week, i wish i had the time to join them but i'm frikkin busy with stuff.
Can't wait to try that carpark again. Definitely the best i've ever been in!

Doesn't look like it, but it's sloped. It goes down two levels with each revolution of the spiral.

usually ride in the city on weeknights for a couple of hours after work. during the day i'm either at uni or work and i can't skate on weekends much at the moment. i'll keep this thread updated with when we go.
opera house carpark again tonight, few cars and zero security. plus the usual macquarie st, ent cent carpark, and a nice hill thru the rocks. got at least a couple of runs in of everything (even the opera house carpark)

OI! I'm free for most of the day on Friday, and will be back to the city tomorrow at 3-ish. I really, really want to skate with some of you weird folk. If someone wants to skate, call me at 04 0415 2419.
My phone's ####ed up from eating it in hyde park. so i'm not going to try texting or calling :P but i will likely be skating TOMORROW (thursday) night from about 6-6.30ish if the weather's good.
gotta be night as i'm working+studying fulltime.
boarderaholic do you know where redfern station is? or the town hall? thinking of a place where we could meet that's a landmark you'd know.
