    hmm, launch ramp on conrod...

Man, I just want to go to this one...
Separated tickets? I couldn't give a damn about anything that's not on the track.
And I don't want to pay to see them.

I guess this could break the formula though. shrug.
that town sure knows how to throw a party.

I never ended up seeing much footage, but i know there were plenty of cameras.

Ill make sure i say this first. Awesome event this year, loved it cant wait for next year! and i really do appreciate the work that everyone put into the event.

The only thing i would hope for next year is more track time. I know it was the first year, and i can respect that completely, but it really would have been good to get more runs. There was just sooo much time spent sitting at the top of the hill waiting for a run down, when there was nobody on the track. So yeah, thats really my only comment for next year is that there be more time to actually ride.

Im not sure exactly what it was that held everything up? be it coordination / communication problems or something else, im not sure, but even being down on the corners where there were crashes, the bails were fixed in less than a minute, but sometimes it was a good 10 - 15mins before the next group was sent down, which cost a lot of runs.

I know some of the overseas guys were a bit dissapointed they only got so little runs on such an awesome hill compared to other events around the world, and i hate to see guys spending all that money to come over for not many runs.

Im sure there are going to be HEAPS more riders next year, including many many more overseas competitors, because from what the guys were saying this year, its one of the best races in the world.

So yeah, guys, please dont take any of that the wrong way, you have an awesome event going and i really do love the work you are all doing, but if some things can get organised better or whatever it may be that needs doing to get more riding it i think it would make the event that big notch better.

    Cheers, ash.

...just a suggestion, but what about a budget way of getting there?

eg: pay your money for your ticket + a little extra and get a bus with 100 other people all going from the airport to newtons the day before practice....just a suggestion.

also, earlier notification: couldn't go last year because i didn't have time to raise the capital.
and a little more coverage "of the right sort." if you know what i mean.

apart from that, me and MS want to hit it next year, and steve better try!!! also, trikes was saying he was interested again, could be good!

Really want to go over with Craig B and a mate! Sleep in like bushes on my board or something. Should build a treehouse and come stay in that every year! Yeah!

And maybe some of the Oz riders using home built gear, boards, trucks, bushings maybe,
    and winning on them.

I will be try`n very hard to get there , might need some practice in the Oz sunshine and longer runs first but

Id just like to see more TV coverage, it would help tremendously with the publics perseption of the sport,
and it would certainly get a lot of kids ..young and old into it,

you should set up a stall to advertise and even sell your trucks. you'd get lots of interest for sure.

good point leigh. yeah paul, would probably be a good idea to get onto the guys when the time comes to try and get yourself a stall. failing that, if you have a few sets there im sure you will sell them all.

yeah a stall had crossed my mind.... I`ll have to see about finding someone good in Oz to make them. Then it would truely be an Ozzy truck, NZ has been an interlude on my return to your shores LOL.

I was told they should be done by this afternoon, fingers X ,

Nice!! I wouldnt mind having made a new board just for the event. As much as i would want to race the Bug racing on a Melifont board (with Kooky Trucks??) could be a top idea...

2009 will be my year to get on the hill as a starter rather than Krew. Told the Doc that no matter what he wants to do next year it will not stop me getting onto the starting line. Gonna be a lay down as I won't be able to afford to slap down from standing for a couple of years yet, but I'll be there and I'll be fast so watch out for Team GOFR (Grumpy Old Farts Racing) in 2009!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Cheers
