Our playground

My friend and I were contemplating creating an australian magazine kinda similar to concrete wave, focussed mainly on longboarding and some other events etc. it would only be a small thing probably A5 in size. The name we've come up with is Our Playground... Probably needs improving.
At this stage were just seeing if its feasible but were wondering if anyone here would like to contribute with articles every now and then.
Also would you guys actually read something like this and perhaps distribute it among your friends?
It'll also be quarterly so we have plenty of time to get it done. We also have good family connections with printers who could probably do the first few batches free. Any input would be appreciated.

if your interested i'm a photographer and a long term rider...tech fan and big mouth...i'd love to contribute: write/flicks/etc...i'm sure that it'd have a following.

My friends mum is also a graphic design lecturer and a photographer so we wont have many issues with layout or camera quality.

i can write features and opinion pieces and photograph, and i have extensive graphic design background. i can make a web site or something. let me know.

we'd really like some feedback on who would read this, and we'd be happy to put in pictures of your quiver/deck into it also some good riding pics, and a section thats kinda like letters to the editor, but hopefully with a less corny name. its not going to be entirely based on long boarding, but mostly so. some people from adelaide would be highly appreciated aswell, some input on local events and such.

It seems like theres enough interest for this to go ahead so well plan it a bit more and get back to you guys via this thread when there are any developments.

Yeah that sounds great, pictures will play a big part in this magazine as we want to make it really entertaining visually.

yeah i'm slowly gathering photos. got a few good ones this weekend that i'll throw up on one of the aussie threads. and depending on how well the magazine idea goes, a complementary DVD might be an idea aswell. i always take my video camera out on sessions, so this year i have so far recorded about 2hrs worth of footage. lots more sessions to come, especially with a boost in rider numbers.
