Re: The south-east Queensland thread
the charity thing is an awsmone idea
Im not sure if anyone is aware but there is like a casual meet up at 'the shire' every monday afternoon we could go to that heres the info
"If you want to meet longboarders you should go to "The Shire" in West End on Monday eves. It's a gathering point for longboards, its a cool BYO place with live reggae/ska/funk/hippie music located on Russel st.
Just outside the cafe there is a good little hill where people go up and down the whole eve."
we could possibly do that?

Re: The south-east Queensland thread
Hi guys,
It was fine all day today. Just a small shower this afternoon. I'm not sure how bad it will be tomorrow. i'm 50% - 50%. It's not looking like a complete write-off though. I'm thinking we could just say it's not officialy on but if you risk it and come down and it rains we could just have a bbq and plan next weekend.
Or the sunday thing might work out better.
What do you think. I'm happy to supply the sasuages.
Here is the forecast
SAT Thunderstorms. Mostly Cloudy. Mild. Humid. 17 km/h
SE 6mm of rain
79% 23 26
SUN Thunderstorms Early. Broken Clouds. Mild. Humid. 16 km/h
ESE 1mm of rain
80% 22 26

Here are some more forecasts
Today we had no rain. it would have been perfect.
Gold Coast/Tweed Heads
Forecast for Friday
A shower or two and a thunderstorm. Rain developing overnight. Sultry with light
NW to NE winds.
Forecast for Saturday
Rain periods, easing to a shower or two with a possible thunderstorm in the
afternoon or evening. Light to moderate S to SE winds.
Maybe next week could be best?

Re: The south-east Queensland thread
I'm free all weekend so if anyone does do something just call me (0433 946 244) and Isaac will probably come aswell.
EDIT:
Me and Isaac are going to go into the city to check out skatebiz and just cruise around. We'll probably end up hitting some carparks and meet up with Lance and Josh at 1:30 at the Wickham St carpark. Just call us if you want to join and we'll find a meeting spot.
Also, after the carpark run we'll be heading over to the Bretho with Nick for an afternoon run.

Re: The south-east Queensland thread
hey nick might as well add pashen street its a pretty long carving hill
road is probably 4-4.5
(its a bit steeper than it looks on street view)
just search 'pashen st, Qld, Australia'
and connor not too sure about the s9 being decent for DH (dont know anything about the board), you could always give it ago. I am sure it will be fine up to about 50kph or so it really depends on flex and torsinal flex etc etc
I really want to give gyndier drive a go, it looks like alot of fun with all the turns.

Re: The south-east Queensland thread
Hey guys,
Been looking into the idea of a charity run with Nick today and it looks like a sweet idea. If we get a team together I'm pretty sure we could get local skate shops as sponsors. I'm not sure about the events though, they havn't really updated their websites but what they do have on them says nothing about skateboards or longboards. I saw a picture of some kids on mono cycles for the bicycle events so if they're on them I think we could skate it. The Bridge to Brisbane is on the 30th of August this year, have to ask them if skating it is allowed and stuff.
So just give your opinions on this and if you know anything about this kind of thing just tell us.
Cheers,
Nick

dont know if boards would be allowed on the bridge because we could run into/over the runners etc but what a great run it would be . we could always start last and wait for it to clear......had fun today we need some cones for our runs around car park buildings etc . Nick has some great pics as well cant wait to get the link

Re: The south-east Queensland thread
Yeah, I'm not too sure about the Bridge to Brisbane one but the MS Bike looks like we might be able to do it and the Brissie to the Bay or whatever it is, it has a 10km city route instead of the 50kms it takes to get to the bay.
