How long till you can post some pictures? Sounds good. I've been thinking of something similar to this. Some sort of Aluminum Cap that goes over the nose.

Sorry. I can't spell. They are made of steel, very strong. I havent forgoten anyone. They will be $30 or $35 with grade 8 hardware. You will need longer bolts for these to fit. We will let you know when we get pics

posting pics will strengthen your patent, not endanger it. its kind of like mailing the plans to yourself through registered mail.

Several ways to make nose guards.
Will be surprised if you can get a patent but who knows.
Metal might save the nose but transfer impact right back to the mounting holes and crack things regardless.
Might wanna think about thick nylon nose plates, did a couple pretty good ones last year.
Want the nose guard to take the impact and not transfer the energy like a good helmet, which gets replaced but saves the head/nose of the board.
Maybe you thought of this stuff already.

Yeah, that's right, it needs to absorb some of the energy like a spring and convert kinetic to potential, and rebound it back as kinetic again, instead of structural stress. Nylon tubing like fish tank tubing could serve to do this.

PMC (Pete) uses some thick automotive door guard material that he sticks on the nose.
Mine was a plate with four mounting holes to match the truck mount holes and the plate goes a half inch longer than the nose of the deck.
Really hard to destroy and soaks up a lot of energy.

It will basicaly be mounted with the four truck hole's. I have thought of the nose gaurds messing up other parts of the board while protecting the nose itself too. It should be super strong and not damage any other parts of the board by moving the force to other parts. I will post pics very soon....Take care and be safe.......Tanner.. BombSquad

Are you talking about a piece that will cave in when hit?......If not, it will just send all the force to the next spot and crack it.
That's why a thick nylon plate was my material of choice, doesn't send impact much at all to the drop through/truck mount.
A Kebbek Caften/Flushcut/Comishin/Bassi is made well enough with enough material around and in front of the truck to take a hit and soak up impact to save the truck mount area, Chaput Big Red X is also built right, among others.
The Hellcat has no nose and just gets destroyed.
Seems that if the manu's thought their stuff through and built a proper deck, then a simple stick on rubber/vinyl nose guard (auto door guard material) would be enough to keep the deck all pretty and sh!t.
You can also replace them for very, very cheap after every hit, keep the roll right in your toolbox/trunk with a pair of scissors.
