Looks interesting, although I'm not crazy about the designed grip tape. Haven't ridden one, but looking forward to giving it a try.

I dig the graphic and the special edition grip a lot. Really nice looking as per usual w/ Bustin. I don't dig that it's only 9" at it's widest point.

I hear that...my main complaint about the Strike is that it could be an inch wider. At 9", this one the same width as the Strike, but at least it's that width for the whole length of the board (more or less), where the Strike is 9" only at the front.

From my personal experience (I have size 9 feet), the Maestro definately doesn't feel like a 9'' wide board.

I don't dig that they keep trying to make a flexible board out of unglassed plys of maple. Or am I missing something about the construction here?

Thats a good point actually, compared to boards with fiberglass etc... you really don't get "lively" flex out of pure wood. Its more of a dampening flex with pure wood.

Dampening for sure. That's really my beef with their whole lineup. I believe that's what leads to the durability issues. All quality boards that I know of that aren't glassed have at least something in addition to wood i.e. arbonite, formica. Pure pressed wood reminds me of Sector 9, and popsicle sticks.

    From their site (http://bustinboards.com/v/bustin_mae...ongboard.asp):

"Because of its 7-ply full maple construction, this board has great flex whether your 115 lbs or 215 lbs."

I don't understand how this could be true; a 115 lb. rider puts a different amount of force on a board than a 215 lb. rider.

    Can anyone explain this?

That's crazy talk. You are completely forgetting that different types of glues, woods, number of plys, even the shape contributes to feel.

It's not just wood or composite.
