Alberta is home to the flatlanders, but who has the best flatland legs out there? On Saturday, August 18th, 20km of Edmonton's scenic bike paths will decide. Riders will battle against each other and themselves for the fastest time through the track.
The R.O.G.U.E. (Ribbon of Green Ultimate Endurance) Skateboard Race is Edmonton's first city sanctioned and insured longboarding event and, as far as legal endurance races go, this is a first for Canada.
Up for grabs? TONS of prizes! Sponsored by big name brands such as: Rayne, Landyachtz and Sector 9, and sponsored by local shops: Local 124, Pipeline Surf, The Easy Rider, Chikko's, Solid Skate, Famous... It will be, in all truth, hard to leave this event without a prize. Side contests, door prizes, draws, gear tosses, you name it! As Edmonton's first sanctioned longboarding event, we're pulling all the stops to make future events possible.
A free (and awesome) race t-shirt is included in the registration fee. After the race we're all headed to the Boston Pizza on 124th street for the podium and after party, where we'll be handing out a buttload of gear.
And, this is a charity event! All proceeds will go to the charity chosen by the winning participant.
HELMETS ARE MANDATORY, and good times are guaranteed.
Registration is at 8:00am and the race starts at 9:00am.
