South SF Bay Area meets? (8/16/09 -> 8/31/09)
I live in San Jose and am a beginner. Is anybody up for meets during these weeks? Now that I'm hunting for a new job, the weekdays are quite open.

I'm down to ride Church on the Hill next week. Pick a day, I can skate after work (4:30pm)

S9, let me know where good beginner runs in the area are, I'm just over the line in Santa Clara next month.
though if I do enough skating in the next month it won't matter....

Re: South SF Bay Area meets? (8/16/09 -> 8/31/09)
Go check out my list of threads I started. Here's the rundown:
Rancho San Antonio**, San Francisco Presidio, Rolling Hills (offshoot hills), Harwood Hill (offshoot hills), Church on the hill, Lake Vasona
** WARNING: Watch out with Lower Meadow Trail. Even in person, it looks deceptively slow. The incline looks very shallow. You stand on that board and within seconds you're rolling 20 MPH! In my video I go up a very short steep incline. You don't even need to do that and you'll go fast. Why did I? For a little extra punch.

I can pendy on cue so if the run's too fast I can deal with that. Scrub off a good 10-20mph and I'm home free.
I don't know the area so I have no idea what the places you listed are, Neighborhoods? Streets? Cities?
so church on the hill is just a good place to practice tucking/sliding?

Re: South SF Bay Area meets? (8/16/09 -> 8/31/09)
RSA = visit my youtube page. I provide a link to a detailed silverfish post.
SF Presidio = put the following sentence into google earth:
"Longboard Sesh 8/16/09 presid parking lot" lat=37.7994391138, lon=-122.459322649
Rolling Hills = 1585 More Avenue, Los Gatos, CA 95032
That's a middle school. Right across from THE hill.
Harwood Hill = This is THE hill. Multiple blind stop-signed intersections. Better have friends stationed out there. The offshoots are the intersections.
"harwood hill" lat=37.227190471, lon=-121.912871685
Church On The Hill = 500 Sands Dr, San Jose, CA 95125-6233
Lake Vasona = search my threads

we shall skate all of them soon enough.

Define masive. There's quite a collection for sure. I've only been in two of them: City Hall (across from library) + San Jose State. Now if you're a pendy kind of guy, I know there's spirals... Those scare me.

Re: South SF Bay Area meets? (8/16/09 -> 8/31/09)
I'd like to see a spiral that scares me into a pendy.
massive = greater than 8 stories

Even if there are no massives in Milpitas/San Jose (there likely are), you've got the entire bay area. No car? There's the BART and Caltrain. By the way, if your in a BART parking garage don't try to run from a BART cop. They're actual police that can book you themselves.
