Default Riding on Socal College Campuses

Looking for an updated list or recent experiences with those that ride to/from class.

So far I've seen people riding their boards around CSUF, CSULB & IVC. I read there was that state-wide ban at CSUs but I'm curious how heavily it is enforced now?

don't know about a statewide ban, but up here at SJSU there's an official club and they skate all over campus including garages and all over the area.

My friend goes to csulb, so I asked him to take me skating there, but he said it isn't worth it cause anytime security sees you they immediately hassle you. I'm not sure how true this is cause I have seen csulb videos as well.

That's the thing that seems kind of weird. I was walking around CSULB and I'd see people riding, same with other campuses. Kind of gave me hope that all was not lost.

longboarding as a commuter is never really an issue. when you start riding structures, or picking up speed in excess thats when security gets on your case usually.

Down where I'm at, four wheels will get you a fine regardless if you're just getting around or doing some tricks etc. Bikes are ok, boards are not. At least that's the official word.

Go up the road to UCR, no hassling there, skate right by the cops.

I got to Longboard down a small hill for just a little under 1 minute before a campus police officer pulled me over at San Marcos State near San Diago. Then he proceeded to harass me for the next 20 minutes telling me about some 190 doller ticket i could have gotten while entering me in their data base. He was a major tool like the other 99 percent of cops ive encountered while boarding (or otherwise).

    Yay for Police Harassment.

Personally, I'm convinced that UCSD has the best campus for longboarding, everything is downhill from somewhere...and I haven't really been hassled, twice in the last 3 years.

UCR is definately a good campus, saw 3 longboarders within 10 minutes of the campus tour.

Duno if this counts, but CSUMB is also a skate friendly campus.

ucsb has always been a pretty longboard friendly campus, but i heard they just put in a new "skateboard lane" on a main path of the school. doesn't bother me too much though, guess it's for pedestrian safety.

sdsu is sporadic. cops will bust out full force like once a month and cite everyone they can. but most of the time they're no where to be found. you just gotta watch for them

I go to a small school called Azusa Pacific and nobody has any problems with longboards here. There are easily as many longboards as there are bikes around campus, possibly even more, and there are no rules against it or anything like that, it's great. Plus, Everything is just a little bit down hill from one side of the campus to the other, so it's perfect for just cruising to class and not too hard to get back up the hill when it's time to go home.

at my CC (Valley College) they posted signs everywhere this year banning skating on campus. I still skate and no one has said anything to me yet.
