Hey, I just wanted to start a thread to find all the UCSD riders that are also on silverfish. My freshman year I usually skated around the campus by myself, so I just wanted to see if I find some people on campus to ride with next year. I'm also gonna have a car on campus so we could also hit some spots with the SD Chain Gang. As of right now, I do garage bombing and hard carving. After I get a hold of some slide gloves, I'm itchin' to learn some tech sliding and also get into speedboarding (probably gonna get myself a loki). Any of you guys at UCSD who could teach me some sliding or speedboarding techniques or just a buddy who wants to learn also would be awesome.
We've got some really good 30-40 mph hills that are great for learning to speedboard in the area. I'm always down to skate blacks too. Are you living on campus next year?
I'm pretty sure there's already a UCSD contact info thread but it may be obsolete now.

Yeah I'm living on campus this upcoming year. I hear blacks is the place for sliding. I definitely want to hit that up once I get my mudslide gloves . And I've seen that UCSD contact thread, but I thought that making a new thread would be alright since it was made about three years ago.
I'm gonna be a freshman at 6th college so you guys are gonna have to show me some hills.
Man Chungmaster, I just checked out your blog and it looks like you got a lot of DH and sliding experience! Hopefully I'll get to skate with you during the year and learn a few things.
oh haha I don't really update my blog that much. But yeah I'm always down to teach people and spread some stoke. BTW where in the bay area are you from? I'm from the south bay so we could have skated but i'm heading to sd on wednesday for orientation.

I'm from the east bay. Man, I'm really looking to get a board for downhill. You guys have any suggestions? I'm a little smaller 5'5" and 130 lbs. Right now I'm lookin at either a Rayne Nemesis or a Comet Loki.
I'm almost the same height and weight as you and I ride an avenger. My main board used to be a kebbek switchback but it started delamming and falling apart so I switched over to an avenger. Add me to your facebook and I'll hit you up to skate. (my name's addison chung).

Both of those boards are good but i think i would rather go for the Loki flushmount.
let me know if you guys find anything, cuz most of the hills near my house have stop signs either @ the bottom or on the way down and is pretty sketchy. Except for the Bikelane off of Mercy Road.
The mating dance of the elusive longboarder is the cross-step into G-turn. So break out the Dancer, show her your big wood, and start making her wet with your mad dancing.
Its my last year at UCSD - just healed up from a broken kneecap so I'm back to speedboarding.
We have a couple people heading up for the SDDRL race on sunday.
I live in the university city (governor dr) area, and there are some fun hills around here.. well lit for night sessions. I've been practicing my predrifts every night, so as long as you can slide and handle the mid-40's, come shred with me!
#### yeah! That's what I like to hear. I can nail heelside predrifts but toesides kill me everytime. Are most of the roads you guys do technical? I really only started to tech stuff like this summer but I can handle speed no problem.

haha i'm bringing 2 of my boards down if you want to try one of them. I have an avenger/kahas and a fsm/paris. I've taken the fsm to around 35ish but I know it can handle more. But yeah you probably want a dh deck if you're gonna go fast.

Oh I definitely need a DH deck. I already have a fullface helmet. I just need some kneepads and some slide gloves and I'll be good to go. Damn, it sucks not having any money at the moment.
I'm trying to sell my Landyachtz DH race, I've had it for a couple years know. I'm trying to sell it on the cheap to gey a Sk8 Kings slalom board so if you interested let me know.
If you guys want to give me your numbers I will call you anytime we're going to some hills and have open seats. My number is 949-293-8885 and my name is Duke. Call me if you're ever headed to blacks or anywhere really.
I wish I could make it to the sddrl but I have to be in San Francisco on sunday. Looks like a badass hill though.
hey i go to UCSD and this is my last year. i've been wanting to get into DH but i'd like to try some boards before i actually buy one. looking forward to skating with some of you my name is Daniel Yang hit me up on facebook?
