Hilo is SCRAPA town.

here is a story on why Hilo is known as a scrapper town all because of UFC and BJ Penn being a champ.

About a week or two ago my friends and I went on a ten mile hill and ditch bomb sesh, from kaumana all the way doen to the Olympic Pool. It was so fun because we were hitting up to +30 mph almost poopdapants. It was a very hot day so we decided to go cruise at the pool. When we were done we headed out to the street next to the music shop to start heading home.
When we were on that street we accidentally held back some traffic for a few seconds with out knowing. So as we noticed we moved to the side of the road to let them pass. There was one friend skating in the front, one in the middle, and me in the back. One car passed casually and as the second truck passed it sped up next to the front skater and almost hit him by like less than a foot. Messed up stuff. So right after that the parks his car in his house 20 ft in front of us. He steps out and just eyes us out as we skate pass. We were just cruising as that guy was asking to fight with us. We are three teenagers and that is one guy. Then we went pass wondering why the #### he did that.

I think ever since fighting came about a lot of Hilo has increased in fighting.

Maybe, me and my friends have had some incidents with cars passing by and either giving is the one finger salute, saying #### you, or speeding up. Not really sure how much of an influence BJ or UFC has on that though... It could, I just haven't really had a confrontation like that yet.

im a huge fan of bj. even before, during and after his flop to gsp before kenflo. all i have to say is that mma does add to peoples egos. bj being famous and probably does bring in a lot of yuppies to hilo just to see if they can go and train at bj's gym.
