Southern Orange County locations
Anyone know good places to board around in the laguna hills, aliso viejo, lake forest, etc areas?
I stopped boarding for a few months after a nasty fall and head scrape, but i'm up and running and good to go with my new sector 9 goddess longboard- just looking for some nice areas to skate, hopefully without much (any) traffic
parking garages are fine and dandy, but they can only satisfy you for so long

do you mind telling me where the worthy mission viejo runs are?
most of the places here in aliso viejo are extremely steep ending with sudden intersections

i guess it's about time i start doing that, lately i've just been using foot braking. this means i'll have to get harder wheels though.
anyone have tips for slide-stopping?

Maybe we should organize a casual clinic...
Would Mr. Green be willing to teach a bunch of newbs how to slide stop???
If not than that long list in San Clemente has a lot of fast runs with no traffic accident issues and good bleed off runs.8)

I can teach you how to slide, but you have to come up to Irvine. PM me if you are interested.

the el toro trail from cook's corner down to at most the laguna hills skatepark, is really good for cruising, i rode it on monday for the first time didn't have to kick alot, (only to go faster )
i'd give it two thumbs up.

thanks for all the help guys, also i'll pm once i get harder wheels for my board.
i'll also check out that path toward the skatepark soon. as for now, i bought myself a cheap pair of aggressive roller blades and am currently trying to learn to stop/turn on those- but don't worry, i'm not betraying the longboarding scene

Re: Southern Orange County locations
I imagine some people are well aware of this, but I have to recommend it if you dont. Get on google maps.
I find hills every where I go with it, and its pretty easy. maps.google.com, go to "terrain" view to view the topographical map, this way you can see what is a hill and whats flat. Then once you find some slopes, you can either scope out the road with satellite view, but even better check out the street view. Street view isnt available in all areas, but its pretty much a car that has driven through taking 360 degree images. Good luck.
