Re: Bay Area riding
Ran into Paul Kent from Calgary in San Francisco today.. so weird. Anyway I guess he's visiting. He's flying to Peru tomorrow with his friend to skate across South America!!! Can't wait for the photos.
For those who don't know who Paul Kent is,
RAYNE Longboards - Canada's Premiere Longboard Manufacturer
His blog, if I can find it, is supposed to map where they are daily and where they are sleeping and stuff.
He added me on facebook and told me that he might be skating sf when he comes back and wants to skate with us.
AND... I saw a rayne prototype

Re: Bay Area riding
I got my wife to drive me to the top of Suncrest (S.J.) yesterday morning. I took 2 runs, awesome solo slide session. There is one stretch where Off-Road vehicles tracked mud and dirt onto the shoulder. Other than that, excellent slide conditions. Weather permitting, I'm going to try and session it weekly. We need a driver for rides to the top and follow behind. Cars drive fast down this street, but my wife had the hazards on and honked to alert me that a vehicle was coming down. I'm hoping to get some photos next time. Anyone want to ride (SLIDE) ?

It's like a longer nemesis but the trucks are dropped through. They aren't done with it yet.

Yeah, that's the Suncrest. What a rush bombing and sliding that road is. Sunday was only my second time skating down it. I rode my mountainboard down the bottom section years ago. I haven't connected 1 clean run yet, but with more practise, I'm hoping to by summer. Wanna come out and skate it?

Re: Bay Area riding
Well I'm down to try new things, but I'm still pretty new to longboarding and i still need to get slide gloves and a helmet. Not sure how my setup would fare on a bombing session though

Suncrest might not be the best place to learn how to slide, but Church on the Hill would be a much better place to practise some sliding skills and mild downhill. Its near Hwy 87 and Almaden Expwy. We haven't rode there in a while, but I'll post up when we do. Its out of the way, but Mayfield Rd. in Palo Alto is a great place to learn sliding and mild downhill also. I have some extra helmets. Tell me your size and I'll try to bring one to a session, but I highly recommend you buy or make some slide gloves.

Re: Bay Area riding
i just found a ####### sick road in emerald hills
Its kind narrow but it looks pretty fast and has a hairpin, ill snoop around there a little more and see if i can find more hills because there is tons of potential. Im gunna start skating the narrow rodas( as long as we have watchers).
