I don't really know the area so pardon my ignorance, cool hand mike was our ride guide....

we hit a main footpath near a skateboard memorial, there were winding paths around the area, and the center apex of paths was cobbled with cubed rock.

yea we hit "the snake" holy crap that was fun, I made it down about 1/4th of it on my landy slifing almost all the time, I would love to rehit that... ninjitsumethod hit it and managed to get a ways down he's got mad deck control... fun times...

we also hit two garages on campus, one was a lefty and the other a righty, both clean kinda trafficy but worth it none the less...

the hills around there looked fun but we didn't hit any streets, you wanna ride some time?

yea if you can hit the garage I think it will be about a month before they put in the final steps to make it a secure structure hit it if you can, it's dusty and dirty and the hazards make it mad fun!

    yea the snake is awesome....

Heh, heh...I don't think I'd even attempt the Snake these days! Ninjistu is nuts, wish I could have seen it. The guy I saw clean the Snake was sliding back and forth like an airboat in a swamp...sorta and grabbing the ground with his hand on the inside line of each turn.

That square cobbled part is Library Walk. Just up the hill from the skateboard memorial is "The main path" which runs north/south the whole campus, but without any steep hills, very very cruisable. Also closed and brutally enforced to skateboards and bikes 8-5 on weekdays (during classes). Since campus police are generally cool, but also appropriately hostile to "non-affiliates" (ie non-student/staff/faculty) on campus during class or after dark, Saturday and Sunday are pretty much the only time cool to ride during the school year. In summer time, the place sleeps and you can go anywhere.

good run, that garage is a blast, felt hot last night but no worries no signs of the man but paranoia is healthy, the ride in the city was a little less fufilling the garage by the spagetti factory was locked down as was the other two, petco park and the one next to the overflow parking and cops pointlessly yelling yea...

    good session

Agreed. This was a mission in the true spirit of our ninja heritage. We've earned great honor and merit with this adventure. Moving in and out of the area unseen was nearly as fun as the actual skating. It reminded me somewhat of a military operation in enemy territory ...

    Default 17 October SUNDAY AFTERNOON

Streets have dried up after this morning's rain (or fog, or whatever it was). I'm headed out to Del Mar Ave to meet Kai and whoever else makes it. If anyone would like to join us, be there at 4:00 or as soon as possible thereafter. We'll be up and down that hill until sunset, at least, if it stays dry.

It seems like it's been weeks of rain ... I was skateboarding in the laundryroom last night (!) ... but now, it appears for the moment, that the rains have ceased and the streets are dry. [-o< I'll be in Ocean Beach this afternoon and I'm gonna rip up Del Mar Ave, even if I've gotta go out there and dry the streets by hand!

Join me anyone? Look for me after 4:30 on Del Mar Ave, Coronado Ave, or Orchard Street.

Default SATURDAY 23 OCT 1:30pm POWAY

There will be an official gathering of the NinjaBombSquad at 1:30 pm, Saturday, 23 October in Poway. The map shows the four runs that we'll focus on; Sunrise Canyon Road, Ipava Drive, Belvedere Drive (aka Cactus Corner), and Tierra Bonita Road. Sunrise Canyon Road and Ipava Drive are sweet speed-carving roads on smooth, wide roads. Cactus Corner is great fun--cornering and sliding--but don't wipe out! Tierra Bonita Road is a bomber that leads to a tricky graveyard run. This area is a blessing for longboarders and there's something here for everyone.

Meet at 1:30 on Sunrise Canyon Road. If you're late and we aren't there, check the other hills.

There is a short road that connects Hidden Knoll Drive and Sunrise Canyon Road that isn't visible on the map. Turn there.

How were the Poway runs on Saturday?

I had to go to the Poway Costco for a flat repair Friday night and took my pin to check out the flat, wide, smooth streets behind it. Unfortunately the streets are flat in more than one sense...just a hair too slow to be much fun at all. However, I discovered the 1/4 Scale RC Planes that fly over the fields back there, so I hung out and watched them until sunset.

When I went into Costco to get my keys back, I figured what the heck and picked up a whole chicken for dinner ($5.38 out the door, hot) and the checker tried to find a UPC on my Fibreflex I left in the cart. Geez, lady, I swear I brought it in! heh heh.

Poway was good we didn't hit too many hills, one actually, just got stuck on it, the most beautiful asfault I have ever slid, smooooth, a nice small grade blind left hand turn then a sick steep drop to a blind right hand. we had a few good bombs as a team and then ****ed around with slides for a good time, I wanna hit it again...

    ... so do I!

    "Rain, rain, go AWAY!"

... and you didn't even get a chance to try Cactus Corner ... That whole area is a score.

The streets are dry and I'm going skating tonight. Meet on Santa Monica Ave, a new hill for most of us, at 5:15pm tonight. From there we ought to head over to (where else?) Del Mar Ave and that's I'd like to be at sunset, 6:00 tonight.
