TikiBomber and I are green light for 2215. A-Dan is a maybe. c00lMike is in. One female on standby as photographer/first aid as required. Turtle (Dan) wont commit.

Behold! The hour of gathering approaches ... the hills tremble in fear at the mention of our name ...

Default Sunday Jan 9 rainy day

Looks like sunday will be another rainy day, so let's plan on skating some parking structures. Chaos Helix, Banana Bay and SDSU are our main choices. SDSU has no less than 6 structures that I've scouted--each with its own characteristics. Kai dosen't wake up until nearly noon but let's all try to get organized and in phone contact by 1100, decide what to do by 1200, and be skating by 1300 .
Kai and c00lmike, you are both expected to participate. I'll summon tikiMarc. Please encourage Fox to join us. Please call A-Don and even if he isn't going to film I'd like to have him skate with us. Wont Ebasil ever grace us? I'll also invite Jim, a slalom racer that I've been in contact with and am eager to meet.
I've got some standup slides and freestyle moves I want to show you guys.
(ps--my van is running, but only for critical events)

Spent some 1 1/2 hours in SDSU structures during the wee wet hours of this morning. Brought Forrest Nymph and this questionable digital camera ... here is a couple of the clearer shots of your Ninja busting standup 180s.

    Impressive, no?

Conditions were a bit dicey, even in the shelter of the sdsu parking structures. James Dieter is a skilled and experienced longboard competitor and I found his company very rewarding. We set out some cones and I was introduced to slalom. We were then required to evade the police (the good news about this spot is that there are no security guards ... the bad news is that there are police) but found a secluded grade whithin one of the other structures and just goofed around for another hour.

If it weren't for parking structures, I'd have gone nuts during this storm(s). I prolly would have tried skating in the supermarket or something.

Late, so I must sleep. Look for more tomorrow on an informal event taking place weds, and a ninja gathering thursday, and a race later this month ...

It's doubtful that I'll actually compete this upcoming Sunday, but I'm at least going to attend the event as a spectactor. We should all go. It's this Sunday and it's being held in Poway right next to Dead Man's Curve.

There will be a practice session tomorrow, Wednsday, 12 January at the Pump Road at 3:00pm. Jim Dieter is bringing me in and we are to meet somebody (Lynn Kramer?) who knows the exact layout of the upcomming race. We're all encouraged to show up Weds, even if it's just to carve the hill up for awhile rather that attempt some slalom. Marc plans to be there.

Thursday: Kai? What do you have in mind?
