Alright, my bags and a small part of my quiver is packed up and ready to hit the road way too early tomorrow morning. I'm headed to Santa Cruz for two weeks for work. I'm not sure right now what my schedule is going to be but I'll be damned if I'm gonna just sit in my hotel room and pass the time when I'm not working with cable tv and pizza. I'm looking for stuff to do as well as places and spots to hit up/check out.
If anyone has any other interesting places, whether they're state orientated or just cool, let me know! If you want to check out a few of my beat up personal Arcane boards I'm down for that as well.
ahh, you better check out downtown santa cruz and look for the museum there. Right next to the museum there is a local coffee shop called lilys (pretty sure it is called that, but in any case it is right next to the museum, and is shaped like an octagon), best cup of coffee i've had straight. didn't even need sugar/cream for it.
Where exactly are you staying in santa cruz? also check out the bike path on campus, great ride. The board walk is cool, but i think i've been to many times and the novelty wears off, nice place to hang out for a bit though.
Hit up the beaches! the beaches are great, sea cliff beach isnt too bad, but if you have a chance go see natural bridges state park. There is a beach right there and you can see the well... "natural bridges". i would also try to take a look at the ucsc campus if you have never been there, granted skating is not allowed on campus, i skate it a lot.
oh, arcane, i just remembered that theres a bus that will take you from downtown santa cruz, to downtown san jose(Amtrak HWY 17 express)!!! its about 4 bucks each way and about an hours ride. you'd have to skate a little bit(about a block depending where you depart) to get to the parking garage i have in mind, but its not too far at all.
theres a map of the route it takes, and the garage i like to go to in downtown san jose is on 4th street and San Fernando. i believe you can exit the bus on san fernando and 5th.
look up the route, and lets plan a garage session (im not doing anything Saturday)
